At least 44 people were crushed to death and more than 150 people injured in a stampede after midnight Thursday, April 29, at a religious bonfire festival in Israel.   The incident happened at a mass gathering to celebrate the Lag B’Omer holiday at Mount Meron, Israel, medics said.   Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the incident "a terrible disaster."     The Magen David Adom rescue service said 38 people had been killed at the scene. It said its paramedics treated dozens of people, including 18 in a serious condition, 2 who were moderately hurt, and 80 lightly injured. All the wounded were evacuated to hospitals.   The wounded were taken to the Ziv hospital in Safed, the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, Rambam hospital in Haifa, Poriya hospital in Tiberias, and Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem.   The Ziv hospital said six of the wounded had died and the Health Ministry confirmed that the total death...

Princess Shyngle was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after she attempted suicide again.   The actress, who attempted suicide in 2018, made another attempt on her life in the United States of America.     Footage shared online shows her on a hospital bed. A medical report also shows the substances she consumed in her attempt to end her life.     "Depression is real. I gat this," she captioned the video.     Recall that in 2018, the actress was rescued by a neighbour and rushed to a hospital in Lekki, Lagos, after taking an overdose of a medication. She reportedly also drank bleach.

Anne Douglas, the widow of Kirk Douglas and stepmother of Michael Douglas has died at the age of 102.    Douglas died at her home on Thursday, April 30, in Beverly Hills, according to an obituary provided by spokeswoman Marcia Newberger. No cause of death was given.   Her death comes more than a year after her husband Kirk, who was known for "Spartacus," "Lust for Life" and other iconic films died on Feb. 5, 2020. He was 103.    The couple, who both met in Paris while he was filming “Act of Love” and she was doing publicity, were married for more than 65 years after tying the knot in May 1954.    Together, Douglas and Kirk had two sons: Peter, 65, and Eric, who died in 2004 at age 46. Channels TV has apologized to the management of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission NBC for its recent breach of broadcasting code.   The broadcasting regulatory body recently sent a letter to the television house, cautioning it for interviewing the spokesperson of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Emmanuel Powerful.   NBC’s Director of Public Affairs, Franca Aiyetan, had an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), where she revealed that the station had apologised. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has raised an alarm of the country being in a deplorable state.  The Rivers state Governor who spoke on Tuesday April 27 during an interactive session with some traditional rulers, political leaders, and other stakeholders at the government house in Port Harcourt, said Governors are running to Abuja to take photos with the President instead of tackling the challenges in their state. A lone gunman suspected to be a cultist shot dead a young man identified as Kelvin Uzoma Efule in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.    It was gathered that the deceased also known as 'Mc Federal Govt' was killed when he came to buy something from a nearby supermarket on Ojike Street, Mile One area of Diobu at about 10pm on Monday, April 26.    The gunman was said to have fled after carrying out the act.   Spokesperson for the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident on Tuesday, April 27, said investigation was on to unravel the cause of the killing and apprehend the perpetrator.
