  Kanye West is seeking joint legal and physical custody of his four children with Kim Kardashian in their ongoing divorce. On Friday, April 9, the rapper's attorneys filed his response in Los Angeles superior court to Kardashian West’s February divorce filing to end their six-and-a-half-year marriage. According to TMZ, Kanye's response to Kardashian’s February divorce filing is “basically a mirror image” of his estranged wife’s petition,  agreeing that the marriage should end over irreconcilable differences and that the two should share custody of their children: North, age 7, Saint, age 5, Chicago, age 3, and Psalm, who turns 2 next month. And like Kardashian West’s filing, West’s asks that the court’s right to award spousal support to either person be terminated. According to Kardashian West’s 19 February petition, the two have a pre-nuptial agreement, and under it, they kept their property separate throughout their marriage.    

Russell Goreraza, Former Zimbabwean First Lady Grace Mugabe's son has been arrested for alleged theft of a mining equipment. Russell who is Grace's son from her first marriage to Stanley Goreraza, appeared before Concession magistrate Moreblessing Makati together with his 3 alleged accomplices; Paul Sithole (45), Aaron Muchenje (31) and Trymore Madzitire (36) on Monday April 12.  It was alleged that Goreraza ordered Muchenje, Madzitire and Sithole to “dismantle the processing plant” belonging to Tian Bao Mineral Industry (Pvt) Ltd. Tian Bao is currently engaged in mining activities at Smithfield Farm in Mazowe which is owned by the Mugabe family. Authorities have identified the female officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright during a weekend traffic stop near Minneapolis, sparking protests and unrest.  Kim Potter has been with the Brooklyn Center Police Department for 26 years, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) said in an emailed statement.   The BCA said she's on standard administrative leave, but would not disclose any further details, citing the active investigation into Wright's death. Wright, a 20-year-old Black man was shot and killed during a traffic stop just before 2 p.m. Sunday in Brooklyn Center, after officer Potter said she mistook her taser for a gun and fired at him. A 41-year-old South African man has been accused of killing a woman and her daughter and stuffing their bodies into a suitcase. The suspect, Sthembiso Lamula made his first appearance in the Pinetown magistrate’s court on April  9, 2021, where he faced two counts of murder and kidnapping. He was remanded in police custody and will appear in court again on Friday, April 16.  According to SAPS spokesperson Col Thembeka Mbele, on October 6 last year the police in KwaDabeka, west of Durban, were alerted to a harrowing scene near the Umgeni River. "On arrival the police found the bodies of two female victims packed in a big suitcase and dumped. The bodies were later identified as 36-year-old mother Simangele Simamane and her daughter, Sbongakonke Mthembu, 13. The victims had multiple injuries on their bodies and their necks were tied with a rope,” said Mbele. The 2021 Bafta Film Awards has finally taken place after being pushed back by months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.   The event, which held at the Royal Albert Hall with nominees attending virtually, was split over two days, with Saturday’s (10 April) Opening Night ceremony announcing the winners of the technical categories, and Sunday’s (11 April) event revealing the winners of the remaining major awards.   A brief tribute was paid to the 99-year-old Prince Philip, BAFTA’s first president, who died last week before the winners were announced.    Chloe Zhao’s “Nomadland” dominated at the BAFTA Film Awards, after winning four prizes, including best film. Comedienne Ada Jesus has denied making any derogatory remark about popular native doctor, Pericoma.  Ada Jesus who spoke to BBC Igbo, revealed that all she did was beg Pericoma after Prophet Odumeje insulted him and his family. Admitting that she said things against Anambra-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje, she stated that she has begged everyone for forgiveness. She also disclosed that her kidney disease which she’s been suffering for over a year became worse after she failed to abstain from some things. Ada Jesus said she’s been told to travel to India for a kidney transplant over the ailment that has left her incapacitated.
