Cristiano Ronaldo’s moment of frustration at a controversial decision in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday is turning into something positive. The captain’s armband the Portugal star threw to the ground when he was controversially denied a stoppage-time winner against Serbia has been sold at auction to raise money for a six-month-old baby’s medical treatment. Duty firefighter Djordje Vukicevic picked up the armband from the pitch after Ronaldo had stormed off at the end of the 2-2 draw in Belgrade. “Ronaldo was agitated [and] he threw the armband. It fell right next to me,” Vukicevic said. He decided to put it up for auction to raise money for treatment for Gavrilo Djurdjevic from Serbia, who is suffering from spinal muscular atrophy. “The entire crew agreed this [armband] will go for little Gavrilo,” he said. Gunmen have killed the chairman of Bayelsa State Waterway Security (West District) Gen. Frank Seide. It was gathered that the deceased popularly known as General Frank, was shot dead by some gunmen in his hometown, Bilabiri community, in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Thursday night, April 1.  It is not clear if his death is related to the reported killings in the community over security contract.   Vanguard reports that four persons have reportedly died in Bilabiri Community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State following a blood bath over disagreement on a proposed security contract.   It was further gathered that the blood bath ensued over disagreement on who handles a major multinational oil company security contract in the area.    An indigene of the area, identified as Embiowei, who confirmed the incident said there is a battle for supremacy among youths on who controls an oil security contract...

Jason Derulo took to Instagram to share the exciting news that he and girlfriend Jena Frumes are expecting a baby. The Swalla singer, 31, shared a loved-up video of himself and model girlfriend Jena, with the singer kissing Jena's blossoming baby bump. At the end, Jason revealed the words COMING SOON written in the sand, along with their footprints.     Jason captioned the video: "Couldn’t be more excited for this new chapter in our life @jenafrumes". Christians on social media are expressing their displeasure at this racy Nun outfit fashion entrepreneur, Toyin Lawani, rocked to a movie premiere on Sunday, March 28.     The movie, the Prophetess by Toyin Abraham, had a theme for the guests to dress like church workers. Toyin chose to dress like a Nun. Her outfit however had high slits that went up to her privates. Some Christians felt offended by it and expressed their displeasure.     The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has directed its members to embark on nationwide strike beginning from Thursday, April 1, 2021. The directive was contained in a communique  issued at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting attended by over 50 chapters of NARD. The communique was signed by NARD‘s President, Dr. Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi; Secretary-General, Dr. Jerry Isogun and Publicity/Social Secretary, Dr. Dotun Osikoya. According to the communique, the NEC unanimously agreed that NARD should proceed on a total and indefinite strike on April 1, 2021, by 8am if the government failed to meet its demand. One one the demands, according to the doctors, was immediate payment of all salaries owed to all house officers, including March salaries (regardless of quota system) before the end of business on March 31, 2021.
