A suspected drug trafficker, Okojie James from Oredo local government area of Edo state has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA while boarding a Turkish airline flight en route Abuja-Istanbul-Cyprus on March 20. A statement released by the agency today March 26, says a number of illicit drugs including 1. 549kg of Cannabis Sativa; 223.80grams of Tramadol; 192.34grams of Rohypnol; 214.05 grams of Flunitrazepam, all of which were concealed in tins of Bournvita and milk, packed in a bag of foodstuff were recovered from him According to the statement, Okojie while being interrogated, claimed his friend, Mr. Elvis who resides in Cyprus asked him to collect the luggage for him. According to him, Elvis sister sent the luggage to him in Abuja from Benin through a transport company, Big Joe Motors. A 35-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested in Mumbai with cocaine worth Rs 1.5 crore (N5,715,000)  The accused identified as Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Enwoko, was arrested by officials of the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch in the early hours of Wednesday, March 24.      According to ANC officials, the accused, a resident of Navi Mumbai was allegedly involved in drug dealing for many years under the disguise of garment business. Police inspector Dattatray Masvekar, in charge of Azad Maidan unit of ANC received a specific information that a Nigerian national would come to Lal Maidan in Agripada to deliver cocaine to a drug peddler. Accordingly they laid a trap and apprehended Enwonko as he arrived at around 1.45 am.  During his search, 500 grams of cocaine was recovered. A Chadian lady, Vivien Tarmadji, pictured above, has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, while trying to board an Ethiopian airline flight 911 enroute Addis Ababa-Italy with 234.35 grams of heroin concealed in her private part. A statement released by the spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi today March 26, states that she was nabbed by vigilant narcotics agents during an outward clearance of the airline at the boarding gate after being scanned.   Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State, on Thursday, March 25, convicted and sentenced ten internet fraudsters.  Those convicted are Agbi Favour Alaba, Otasowie Kelly Osaremen, Chukuwdi Greater, Simeon Asein, Onosemuode Eyube Abel, and Aigbata Joseph. Others are Momodu Abdulmalik, William David, Erhirouture Precious, and Obibi Odemaro. The suspects who were arraigned on separate one-count charge of impersonation and obtaining by false pretenses, pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to them.   24 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the operatives of the Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The suspects were arrested at their various residences in the Sango area of Ogun State, on March 21, following intelligence reports received by the Commission about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities.   At least 32 people have been killed and 66 injured after two trains collided north of the city of Sohag in Egypt. The country's railway authority said emergency brakes in the first train were triggered by "unknown individuals", which caused the train to come to a halt. A second train then crashed into the first from behind, causing two carriages to come off the tracks. Authorities have dispatched 36 ambulances to the scene and casualties were being taken to local hospitals, the nation's health ministry said in a statement on Friday, March 26.     Pictures on local media show overturned carriages with passengers trapped inside. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, have arrested a 28-year-old man, Ibeh Theophilus Uche and his mother for their alleged involvement in computer-related fraud to the tune of about N50million.  Uche, the runs 10 Kobo Wine Place, Ikotun, Lagos, was arrested recently in his room in Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, following credible intelligence reports about his alleged criminal activities. During interrogation, Uche, who presents himself variously as Rachael Armstrong , Keanu Reeves, Rebekah Schwarzenberger, Keanu Private, Elizabeth Hortman and Stefan Paulson, confessed to being into Bitcoin investment scam, romance scam and identity theft. The suspect also confessed to have defrauded his victims to the tune of about N50m, since he started the criminal activities in 2020.
