  The International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) has named Barcelona the best club of the past decade. "FC Barcelona won the CLUB WORLD RANKINGS of the First Decade (2001-2010) and also of the second Decade (2011-2020)," the IFFHS said in a statement. Barça were ranked with 2,877 points with rival Real Madrid second on 2,782 with German giants Bayern Munich completing the top three with a points tally of 2,594.5. Founded in 1899, FC Barcelona have won five UEFA Champions League titles, three FIFA Club World Cups, five UEFA Super Cup trophies, and 26 Spanish La Liga tournaments.   Before coming up with these rankings, IFFHS usually takes into account the number of points claimed by a team in domestic competitions, as well as their performances in the European competitions.   See top 10 list 1. The Nigerian army has denied killing a woman during a protest at Gon Gora, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Ibrahim Shittu, Media Officer of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) described the claim as "malicious and false".  Shittu said the woman was hit by a stray bullet during another violent protest staged by a group of women in the community.   He said;    “To set the record straight, on March 5, following a reported case of the destruction of a farmland belonging to one Mr Ibrahim Amako by a group of herders numbering five, the Secretary to the District Head of Gon Gora, Mr Ayuba Bungon, intervened in the case where he facilitated the payment of the N300,000 compensation to appease the victim. “On March 6, at about 6:55 p.m. while on routine patrol, our troops were informed that the Secretary and five herders were kidnapped by unknown persons suspected to be youths of Gora Village at Ungwan Masat along Gora – Zonkwa road while ret...

A Nigerian man, Dexter Enwerem has been arrested in Norwish, Connecticut in connection with an international phone scam crime organization.  Enwerem, 34, of 29 Ward St., Norwich, was charged with first-degree larceny and is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond, according to a Norwich Police Department news release Wednesday, March 24. Police began investigating a complaint in September 2020 from someone who said their 80-year-old mother-in-law sent money to “unknown individuals for the benefit of ‘helping the homeless.’” “The victim sent gift cards to suspects totaling $13,500 and an $18,000 money order to a suspect identified as Norwich resident Dexter Enwerem,” the release reads. “After a thorough investigation by Detective Scott Meikle, it was determined Enwerem was part of a Nigerian phone scam crime organization." it added

The Niger State Police Command has arrested twenty-one suspects over railway vandalism.   Spokesperson of the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, March 24, said the suspects were arrested at Esheti-Elegi community of Kataeregi, in  Katcha Local Government Area.      DSP Abiodun said two suspects, Yusuf Ibrahim,35, of Sabo-Kasuwa Zungeru and Abubakar Makeri, 25, of Kpakungu Minna, were arrested on March 17, by police operatives attached to Kataeregi division.    The suspects were arrested with a canter truck with Reg.   Juventus striker, Alvaro Morata  has admitted he "came close" to suffering from depression during his difficult 18 months stay at Chelsea football club of England. Chelsea paid a then club-record £58 million ($79m) to sign Morata from Real Madrid in 2017. He scored 24 goals in 72 games and left Chelsea for Atletico Madrid in January 2019 after being criticized for his style of play.    He now plays for Juventus and says more should be done to address mental health.     "I've never had depression and I hope I never do, but I came close," Morata said in an interview with El Mundo.  "I don't believe it is given the importance that it should. "When your head doesn't work well, you are your worst enemy. During those times, it doesn't matter what you do, you are always fighting against yourself. Former Chelsea striker, Diego Costa has reportedly reached an agreement with Benfica after the Portuguese club tabled an offer of a two-year deal worth £5million.  The Spanish international, 32, was released by Atletico Madrid by mutual consent in December and has spent the last three months looking for a new club.  Mundo Deportivo report that Costa has been speaking with his some clubs, and even turned down an offer by Ligue 1 side Marseille to join them. It has been reported that Benfica have offered the 32-year-old £2.6m a season to play for them, and Costa has agreed to the move in principle. The money being offered is said to be impressive for a player that fell out of favour at the Wanda Metropolitano last year. Costa is now expected to join Benfica in June, but he is still leaving the door open for a better option and is yet to fully commit to the Portuguese giants.
