  Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus for a second time.  The Juventus star was first diagnosed with the illness while on Portugal duty earlier in the month. But nine days after his initial positive test, the football is still infectious. According to Portuguese newspaper Correio de Manha, Ronaldo's latest results came back positive on Thursday, October 22.  The publication claims Ronaldo's test gave a very low viral load despite returning positive, with Juventus still hopeful he could recover in time to feature in the Champions League game.  The club will likely ask UEFA for permission to test Ronaldo 48 hours before the game on October 28.  It will be up to the European football body to decide whether or not to allow such a request to go ahead because a player must test negative at least one week before a match to be considered for selection, according to UEFA protocol.

Nigerians have taken to various social media platforms to react after President Muhammadu Buhari addressed the nation. The address took place at 7pm on Thursday, October 22. Two days after End SARS protesters were shot at the Lekki toll gate. The shootings degenerated into chaos. Nigeria international striker, Victor Osimhen has made his European football debut for new club Napoli as he was handed a starting role by the Italian club in Thursday night's clash against AZ Alkmaar.     Osimhen scored 18 goals in 38 appearances for Lille in the 2019-20 season, before moving to Napoli in a deal reported to be worth €50 million (£45m/$59m), making him Nigeria's most expensive player in history. In the game on October 22, Osimhen played as the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation but Napoli lost the game 0-1. The team coached by Gennaro Gattuso's are in Group F alongside Rijeka, and La Liga giants Real Sociedad.  

  At least 17 worshippers were killed in eastern Ghana when a three-storey church building collapsed, local officials said today, with more people, feared trapped in the rubble. One survivor told local media that some 60 people were inside the building belonging to the Church of Prosperity when it collapsed Tuesday in the town of Akyem Batabi. Rescue workers pulled eight people out alive and 17 corpses, National Disaster Management Organisation official Gyan Willington told AFP. “We’re bringing more excavators to clear the rubble,” he said. “We fear there are more people trapped down there.” Eastern Region Minister Eric Darfour said the rescued had been sent to the hospital. “We do not have an idea of the number of people still trapped but the rescue mission is ongoing,” Darfour said. Recall that while unleashing her frustrations with the killings of protesters during the ongoing EndSARS protest, Tiwa Savage took to social media to ask the international community, especially international stars (particularly Beyonce) to ring a loud bell about the situation so the reluctant Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari will act immediately. Her plea backfired as Tina threw shots at her by reminding her that her daughter, Beyonce is not a political leader who needs to intervene in the ongoing crises.     The Managing Director, Dangote Tomato Processing plant in Kadawa, Kano State, Abdulkarim Kaita, has called on the Federal government to put a total ban on the importation of tomato paste into the country. He made the call while flagging off the distribution of tomato seedlings to 5,000 farmers under the Anchor Borrowers programme of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Thursday at Kadawa village in Kura Local Government Area. “We are appealing to the Federal Government to put a total ban on the importation of tomato like what it did to rice,” Kaita said. He said the call was necessary to boost local production of the commodity and ensure that Nigeria was self sufficient in tomato production. According to him, the ban on the importation of tomato paste would lead to the establishment of more tomato processing plants, thereby creating job opportunities for many people in the country.
