   A furious man reportedly beat his seven-year-old daughter to death after she told him that she does not love him in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The blood-curdling incident took place on the day of Eid Al Adha, the feast of Sacrifice on 24 September. The father, who has not been named, flew into a rage after his small daughter Yara said she didn’t love him.

The deceased, Ikechukwu Uwagbaokwu, according to family source was allegedly killed by the operatives of the Abia State Police Command. The Uwagbokwu family said that their son was murdered because of a land tussle they have with Ndukwe and Uwaga families.

  President Muhammadu Buhari has collected his National Identity Card from the the National Identity Management Commission. The commission on October 14, Wednesday, vowed that Nigerians who are yet to pick up theirs would do so in 90 days’ time. Chris Onyemenem, the director-general of the commission, who made the brief ceremony in Buhari’s office, blamed the postponement of the supplying of the cards on the inability of the contractors to perform.
