  A mother and one of her 2-year-old twin daughters were killed by a lightning strike in Florida. Kenya Glasgow, 31, and her young daughter Kennedi were found lying on the sidewalk in Margate after they were jolted by a bolt of lightning right in front of their devastated husband and dad around 2:30 pm Sunday, according to the Margate Police Department.   “I saw the whole thing,” Kam Glasgow told The Post through sobs on Monday, the morning after losing his wife and one of his children.     “A bolt of lightning came down, I got hit with the residuals from the ground, and I looked over, and that’s when I saw them,” the shattered dad added.   “S–t can’t be real,” he also wrote on Facebook of the “1 In 1.2 million” freak accident.   First responders rushed to the scene and immediately began treating the victims and performing CPR, according to police.  They were rushed to separate hospitals, where the mother and daughter were each declared dead soon ...

  Operatives of the Enugu State Command attached to Anti-Cultism Sub-Unit of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) have rescued three victims of abduction and recovered their Lexus RX350, two locally made firearms, ammunition and other exhibits.    According to the spokesperson of the command, SP Damiel Ndukwe, the operation followed credible intelligence received at about 1:30 a.m. on August 18, 2026, while the operatives were on crime-prevention patrol along the Port Harcourt Expressway, Enugu, concerning the carjacking and abduction of occupants of a Lexus RX350 within Independence Layout by armed hoodlums. ‘’Acting swiftly, the operatives commenced a hot pursuit of the suspects, which continued to Hillview Road, Independence Layout. On reaching the area, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and their firearms before fleeing the scene. The three victims were subsequently rescued unharmed, with support from members of the Neighborhood Watch Group and law-abiding citizens...

  In Italy, a 75-year-old Roman Catholic priest took his own life after it was announced that he will be transferred from the parish where he had served for nearly 25 years.   On August 12, the body of 75-year-old Catholic priest Lino Zatelli was found in the Italian city of Trento.  Shortly before his death, he had learned of his transfer from the parish where he had served for nearly 25 years, reports Tribune Chrétienne.   That morning, the priest was supposed to celebrate Mass at the Church of San Carlo Borromeo, but he did not appear for the service.
