  A Russian journalist who was among the first to expose reports of Vladimir Putin’s relationship with former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva has died in Latvia after reportedly consuming poisonous mushrooms he had gathered near his home. Grigory Nekhoroshev, 69, died in Riga, where he had lived in exile for more than a decade after fleeing Russia. Friends said the veteran editor, known for his passion for mushroom foraging, accidentally ate toxic mushrooms collected from his yard. Nekhoroshev was the editor-in-chief of the now-defunct Moskovsky Korrespondent, the newspaper that published a bombshell report in 2008 claiming Putin planned to divorce his then-wife, Lyudmila Putina, and marry Kabaeva. The report caused a major political storm in Russia and ultimately led to the newspaper’s closure.   Rapper Mystikal’s son, Million Tyler, says he is still processing the emotional fallout from his father’s recent conviction and prison sentence, admitting he is not yet ready to visit him behind bars. Speaking with TMZ, Million said the situation has been difficult for everyone involved, including both the victim and his family. He described the case as one where "there are no winners," adding that he feels sympathy for the woman at the center of the case as well as for his father. Million revealed that he was present in court when the victim recounted allegations that Mystikal physically abused and later r@ped her, describing the experience as extremely difficult to witness.   Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has called on President Tinubu to resign from office just as UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, announced his resigned this morning over UK's failing economy. In a statement released on social media this afternoon, Obi said President Tinubu has failed to deliver on the promises he made before his election in 2023 and so he needs to borrow a leaf from the UK prime minister and resign from office as well.   Clive Davis, the legendary music executive credited with discovering and signing Whitney Houston, has died at the age of 94.   According to BBC, Clive Davis, who worked with some of the biggest names in music, passed away at his home in Manhattan after recently battling respiratory problems.   Over a career that spanned decades, he helped launch and shape the careers of stars including Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Santana, Christina Aguilera and Billy Joel. He signed Houston in 1983 when she was just 19 and played a major role in turning her into one of the world's biggest-selling artists.   His family described him as a visionary whose influence helped shape the soundtrack of generations.   Davis received multiple Grammy Awards during his career and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

  Elon Musk has said that people in Africa are not starving amid conversations about him donating towards combating hunger in Africa.   As the world's richest man gets richer, climbing to the trillionaire status, conversations about how Elon Musk should spend his money has come up, with many suggesting that he can solve the problem of hunger.  Responding to the discussion on Twitter, Elon wrote: “People in Africa are not starving. This is a myth. The only time there is a shortage of food is when there is a war going on and the only way to solve that would be invasion!”  

  The first round of talks between high-ranking U.S. and Iranian officials in Switzerland ended Monday, mediators said, after a tense opening marked by Tehran's announcement it had again closed the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. President Donald Trump repeating his threats to resume attacks on Iran.   A joint statement from mediating nations Qatar and Pakistan said the U.S. and Iran agreed to a roadmap toward a final deal within 60 days.   Former Liverpool striker, Mohamed Salah, led Egypt as they broke a 92-year jinx at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by winning their first-ever match as they defeated  New Zealand 3-1 on Sunday, to move top of Group G and boost their hopes of reaching the knockout stage.   New Zealand, also chasing their first-ever World Cup victory, made a strong start and went ahead through defender Finn Surman, who finished off a clever set-piece.   The second-half display completely flipped the script as both Salah and Mostafa Zico scored a goal and an assist apiece as Egypt rallied from a 1-0 half-time deficit and took over first place in Group G on Sunday.
