  Tim Cook will step down as CEO of Apple, with John Ternus set to succeed him, the company has announced. Cook , who joined the technology giant in 1998 and has been its CEO for nearly 15 years after succeeding the late Steve Jobs, will now take up the role of executive chairman.   He will remain in his current role until 1 September, when Mr Ternus, the current head of the hardware engineering department, will officially take up the position.   A Florida woman’s mugshot has gone viral following her arrest on a DUI charge.   On Friday, April 17, 2026, 49-year-old Coleen N. Brown of Seminole County was taken into custody by Casselberry police for driving under the influence with an unlawful blood alcohol level.   She quickly posted a $500 bond for her release, but her mugshot,  showing her in a bright yellow jail uniform with striking makeup and distinctive ears, has since gained widespread attention online

  A woman has been arrested after she told her Facebook followers she had been gang raped.   The woman, who is in her 20s, claimed that four men in tracksuits sexually assaulted her in Milton Recreation Ground, Kent.   Her post led to a police investigation despite officers not receiving a direct report from the alleged victim.   However, following an investigation they found no evidence that such an attack had taken place.   She was arrested and taken to her local police station for further questioning.   Swale district commander Chief Inspector Vanessa Foster said in a statement: "We were made aware of social media posts about an allegation of rape.   "Despite not receiving a direct report to the force about the alleged offence, officers have conducted initial inquiries based on the information available   "At this time, we have found no evidence to suggest the offence took place.   "It is important the local community is assured ...
