  A 61-year-old Nigerian man who subjected two young children to abuse over 15 years has been jailed following an investigation by Met detectives. Anthony Adewale Sobogun, of Thistlewood Crescent, Croydon was sentenced to 28 years' imprisonment at Inner London Crown Court today, Wednesday, 15 April, 2026.  He had previously been found guilty of 17 non-recent sexual abuse offences against two children.  The offending includes multiple incidents of s3xual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13, as well as the rape of a child. Sobogun carried out his abuse during the 1990s and early 2000s.   A Florida, U.S.  doctor is facing charges of second-degree manslaughter following a fatal surgery where he allegedly removed a patient's liver instead of the spleen.   Dr. Thomas Shaknovsky, 44, was arrested Monday, April 13, 2026, after a two-year investigation into the August 2024 d£ath of a 70-year-old Alabama man conducted by local and state law enforcement in collaboration with medical authorities, the Walton County Sheriff's Office said.   Dr. Shaknovsky, who is licensed to practice medicine in Florida, Alabama and New York, is now being held at the Walton County Jail on a $75,000 bond, according to correction records, after a grand jury returned an indictment.   A dad says he wishes he could "turn back time" after he flew to Turkey to fix his  teeth only to be left with no teeth.    Jon Denton was forced to have his front teeth knocked out to get a breathing tube down his throat after he was involved in a serious motorbike crash in January 2020.   He then had metal put into his jaw for months during his recovery, and the now 34-year-old said he was left struggling to brush his teeth. The dad-of-two says this caused his teeth to crumble but when he reached out to a UK dentist for help he said he couldn't afford the £30,000 for treatment.   Jon, a delivery driver, claims his teeth then deteriorated further, leaving him with constant toothache and unable to eat food unless he cut it up "like a child".   He decided to bring out £3,500 in January this year and fly out to Turkey to get a new teeth.      He had 14 implants fitted into his mouth, which he said left him in "excruciating" pain and ...

But he wound up watching them from the stands, eventually leading to this lawsuit. VID, a company that promotes large-scale sporting and music events based in Miami, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against Messi and the Argentine Football Association for fraud and breach of contract, TMZ reported.   U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the Strait of Hormuz will permanently be open after secret talks with Xi Jinping, claiming the Chinese leader had agreed to stop arming Iran.   FBI Miami has released photos of the vehicles and possible suspects involved in the sho0ting of Atlanta rapper Offset outside of a casino in Miami. The Migos rapper was ambushed by a “large group” of people who tried to rob him outside a Florida casino last week when he was sh0t in the leg.   He was hospitalized for a couple of days, but swiftly returned to the stage at a performance at a music festival at the University of Arkansas on Saturday. FBI Miami said the sho0ting happened at approximately 7:24 p.m. on April 6, when a large group of individuals assaulted a lone victim outside the casino.   During the confrontation, one of the subjects produced a handgun and fired a single shot, striking the victim, identified by local authorities as rapper Offset. Afterward, the group attempted to remove the victim’s watch, but it was not stolen.   Nearly 200 prisoners were mistakenly released in England and Wales over the past year, according to new figures published by the Ministry of Justice.   Two petrol bombs were thrown at Finchley Reform Synagogue in north London, United Kingdom, in what police are treating as a suspected antisemitic attack. According to the Metropolitan Police, two suspects dressed in dark clothing approached the building shortly after midnight and hurled two bottles believed to contain petrol along with a brick.   The Central Bank of Nigeria has proposed the creation of a mediation panel to handle loan-related disputes, aiming to reduce reliance on courts in secured lending transactions. The proposal was outlined in a circular signed by P. I. Oluikpe, Acting Director of the Development Finance Advisory Department, inviting stakeholders to review draft guidelines for establishing a Mediation and Dispute Resolution Panel under the Secured Transactions in Movable Assets framework. “The Panel shall, to the exclusion of any court of law or body in Nigeria, exercise first instant jurisdiction to hear and determine any dispute arising from the operation and application of the Act,” the apex bank stated.
