  An entire youth football team from Ethiopia has vanished in Sweden after the culmination of the Gothia Cup youth tournament in Gothenburg, sparking an international response.    According to Sweden Herald, around 20 people, mostly players aged 14-17 and also some adult supervisors, left their hotel without checking out and cannot be located. The tournament ended ten days ago, but authorities say the group still remains unaccounted for and has not returned to Ethiopia.   Officers are working with the Swedish Migration Agency, border police, and authorities in other countries to locate them.

  Former UFC title challenger Anthony Smith has been arrested in Nebraska on three felony charges, according to authorities. John W. Reisz, Chief Deputy Sarpy County Attorney, told TMZ that Smith was arrested on charges of attempted first-degree domestic violence, terroristic threats and first-degree false imprisonment. According to Reisz, the attempted first-degree domestic violence charge carries a possible prison sentence of 1 to 50 years, while the terroristic threats charge is punishable by up to three years in prison, a $10,000 fine, and 9 to 18 months of post-release supervision. He added that Smith is scheduled to appear for a bond hearing at 8 a.m. on Wednesday at the Sarpy County Correctional Center.   Smith, 38, was booked into a county jail on Monday evening shortly before 9 p.m. Authorities have not disclosed what led to the arrest, but the charges are considered serious.   Brazil forward, Neymar Jr., has announced his retirement from international football after a 16-year stint with the Selecao. Neymar took the decision after featuring for Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.   The 34-year-old made the announcement while speaking to reporters after Santos defeated Universidad Central 4-2 in the second leg of the Copa Sudamericana knockout round playoffs. “My time with the national team is over,” Neymar said. “I made history, I was very happy, I gave my blood, my life. I always fought for the yellow jersey, but now I don’t want to anymore,” Neymar told reporters.   Neymar’s final appearance for Brazil came in the World Cup last-16 clash against Norway.   He scored a penalty in stoppage time, which only proved to be a consolation, as Brazil was eliminated from the tournament.

The documentary, titled "Jared Leto: Hollywood's Dark Secret," features interviews with 10 women, nine of whom are sharing their accounts publicly for the first time.   Kanye West and his former personal assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, have reached an out-of-court settlement in the sexual harassment lawsuit she filed against the rapper in 2024. According to court documents filed in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, July 28, the parties reached an "unconditional" settlement on July 23. The filing states that a request to dismiss the case will be submitted within 45 days of the settlement date.   The terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Pisciotta sued West in 2024, alleging that she was dismissed after he sent her numerous sexually explicit text messages and videos. She claimed one of the messages contained graphic sexual content. In her lawsuit, Pisciotta also alleged that West masturbated in her presence and sexually assaulted her during a stay at a hotel.   Japan on Tuesday issued a tsunami warning after a 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit the southern part of the country. The earthquake was measured at the highest possible level of seven on Japan’s Shindo scale of shaking, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).   The JMA said the earthquake struck at 4:27 pm local time. It added that the tsunami triggered by the earthquake could measure up to 1 metre   While there was no immediate report of any casualties, AFP reported that the earthquake knocked out power to tens of thousands of households. According to the country’s football governing body, the stolen money was recovered in full and the person responsible was sentenced to six months in prison.   Nigeria’s Super Falcons have reportedly been subjected to racist abuse on social media ahead of their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Morocco.  The development reportedly followed allegations by Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo that money was taken from players’ rooms at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca, where the team initially stayed.   A new football rule aimed at stopping goalkeepers from faking injuries to force tactical timeouts could be trialed in England as early as this weekend. The proposed change is designed to prevent keepers from disrupting the flow of matches by going down with apparent injuries, which currently allows play to stop while they receive treatment and gives coaches an opportunity to speak to players. Under the proposed law, if a referee allows medical staff onto the pitch to treat a goalkeeper, the team's manager must nominate an outfield player to leave the field for one minute. If no player is chosen within 10 seconds, the captain will automatically be required to leave. The Football Association, Premier League, English Football League, National League and Women's Super League have all backed the proposal.   A top North Korean colonel has reportedly been executed in front of his own men for allegedly embezzling state reserve grain.   The shooting left his officers 'deeply shaken', a Daily NK source in South Pyongan province said, adding: 'Their faces turned pale.   A social media influencer has been killed by her estranged husband less than two weeks after she went on TikTok to accuse him of pedophilia.   Sara Gilson was fatally shot Thursday, July 23, in Owasso, Oklahoma, by husband Jeremiah Duffey, who went by Shawn Duffey on social media, according to the Owasso Police Department.
