  A Virginia mother of three was allegedly murdered after being lured to West Virginia with the promise of a job opportunity by a man she was romantically involved with.   Angel Whitaker, 37, left her Bristol, Va., home in January 2026 for a new job in Bluefield, W.Va., after former work associate Donald Pennington, 59, allegedly offered her an assistant manager position at an O’Reilly Auto Parts in Bluefield, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WVNSTV.   Whitaker, who allegedly met Pennington at a Bristol auto shop in 2018 and began a relationship with him shortly after, moved in with him after relocating to West Virginia.   By April, her family lost all contact with her, and on May 4, her sister Angela reported her missing.   Investigators said the relationship had grown strained after Whitaker moved in with Pennington, and in the weeks before her disappearance, her sister told police Whitaker had moved into a Princeton hotel to distance herself from...

  Troops of 149 Battalion Operation HADIN KAI in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have arrested a suspected teenage terrorist in Gubio town, Borno.   The suspect, identified as Umar Zacharria, 15, was arrested during a joint operation by troops and CJTF operatives. Security analyst Zagazola Makam, who disclosed this on May 22, 2026 said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect hailed from Jere Local Government Area and allegedly confessed to being among terrorists terrorising motorists along the Kareto general area. According to the sources, the suspect is currently in the custody of the military for further investigation.

  The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested a 49-year-old Nigerian man, Etinosa Osahon, for stolen mail, bank fraud, and aggravated identity theft. Osahon was arrested in Los Angeles on May 21, 2026.   The suspect is currently being held in ICE custody while awaiting removal from the United States. ICE announced the arrest in a post via X on Saturday, May 23.    "ICE Los Angeles arrested Etinosa Osahon, 49, of Nigeria, May 21. Osahon’s criminal record includes stealing and being in possesses of stolen mail, bank fraud, and aggravated identity theft. He is in ICE custody pending removal,” the post reads.

  The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) have no plans to change their preparations for the World Cup despite a warning from the United States that the national team must isolate for 21 days before arriving in the country, The Guardian reports.   Iran's chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has warned that Donald Trump would face a “crushing” response if the United States resumes military attacks against Iran following the fragile ceasefire that halted the recent regional conflict.   In a social media post on Saturday, May 23, Ghalibaf said Iran had rebuilt and strengthened its armed forces during the six-week ceasefire period. “Our armed forces have rebuilt themselves during the ceasefire period in such a way that if Trump commits another act of folly and restarts the war, it will certainly be more crushing and bitter for the United States than on the first day of the war,” he said.   Chelsea are set to launch a legal complaint over Manchester City’s pursuit of former head coach Enzo Maresca, unless the Manchester club cough up some compensation.   Allegations were made against Maresca that he had spoken with City while still at Stamford Bridge, which left Chelsea officials furious.   Now, with Maresca primed to replace the outgoing Pep Guardiola, action may be taken if the two clubs cannot agree on compensation.   The head of the World Health Organization has expressed concern over the "scale and speed" of an outbreak of a rare type of Ebola known as Bundibugyo in eastern Congo, where authorities reported 134 suspected deaths and more than 500 suspected cases. The virus spread undetected for weeks after the first known death as authorities tested for a more common type of Ebola and came up negative, health experts and aid workers said. The Bundibugyo virus has no approved medicines or vaccines.   The U.S. government will permanently drop tax claims against President Trump, according to a settlement document made public Tuesday, May 19, in an extraordinary use of executive power that could effectively help shield the president from further examination of his finances and legal conduct. As part of the settlement deal meant to resolve Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service over the leak of his tax returns, the U.S. is "forever barred and precluded" from examining or prosecuting Trump, his sons and the Trump organization's current tax examinations, according to a one-page document posted to the Justice Department's website. The government is also barred from looking into Trump's family, affiliates and others, according to the document, which is signed by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.
