The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has enlightened the people of the state on what politics and leadership should truly represent, stressing that leadership must be about service and stewardship rather than self!sh interests.
“I want to thank God for giving us the privilege to serve our people. I personally see leadership as service and stewardship. Anytime you take away stewardship from leadership, it becomes self-serving. Sometimes you hear politicians say politics is a game of interests, but the interest they often mean is self-interest. For us, this is about stewardship” he said.
The governor also pointed out his vision for Umuahia, explaining that the goal is not to copy other cities but to develop a unique identity for the state.
Alex Otti noted that the transformation in Umuahia is still at its early stage and urged residents to understand that development takes time.
“The transformation in Abia Umuahia is at infant stages, so we are just starting. We have clearly set out in our mind what we want Umuahia to look like. And we are not comparing ourselves with anybody. When you say the place should look like Dubai we say NO we don’t want it to look like Dubai, we want it to look like Umuahia”
