The death of beloved “Erie News Now” anchor Emily Matson, who was hit by a train early Monday morning in Pennsylvania’s Fairview Township, has been ruled a suicide.   Matson, 42, was struck by a train at around 12.45am on Monday, Dec. 11, in Fairview Township in Erie Pennsylvania, where she lived, according to Erie County Coroner's Office.   The Erie News Now anchor, who was married to police officer Ryan Onderko, was last on air Friday, Dec. 8, before the station announced her shocking passing on Monday.   Matson spent nearly 20 years hosting “Erie News Now,” most recently doing the 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. news. A fight between civilians and one of Mexico's deadly drug cartels left 14 people dead, including 10 cartel hitmen.   According to a report from Univision Noticias, four others were injured with gunshot wounds and two people are missing after violence broke out in the State of Mexico. It is thought that members of La Familia Michoacana, a powerful drug trafficking organisation, recently announced the gang was increasing the extortion tax it imposes on farmers in the town of Texcaltitlán. This tax is common across Mexico, with businesses paying cartels to be allowed to operate without interference.   Reports suggest Texcaltitlán farmers met with La Familia Michoacana members at a football pitch last Friday, December 8. Emmy-winning actor Andre Braugher has died at the age of 61.  He passed away Monday, Dec. 11, following a brief illness, his publicist Jennifer Allen said. Braugher’s illustrious TV career included roles on Homicide: Life on the Street and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.   Born in Chicago, he made his film debut in the 1989 Oscar winner Glory and appeared in a series of Kojak TV movies before landing the role of interrogation specialist Detective Frank Pembleton in the NBC police drama Homicide: Life on the Street   Homicide ran for seven seasons, with Braugher earning two Emmy nominations for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, winning the award in 1998.   Following Homicide, Braugher starred in a number of short-lived TV shows, including ABC’s Gideon’s Crossing, CBS’ Hack and TNT’s Men of a Certain Age.
