A Tennessee college chaplain, who functions as a faith adviser to Christians, Muslims and Jews on campus, tried to organize a “BDSM 101” workshop for students.  The workshop was to feature a local dominatrix to discuss how to safely engage BDSM, but the school quickly pulled the plug on it.  Students at Rhodes College in Memphis received the surprise invitation earlier this month about the workshop hosted by the Rev. Beatrix Weil, an ordained minister and school chaplain.   The invitation read, “Chaplain Beatrix will host a local dominatrix to share wisdom on how to safely, sanely and consensually learn about bondage, discipline-domination, sadism-submission and masochism."  “There will be an opportunity to ask questions anonymously,” the Nov. 10 invitation added to the roughly 2,000 students who attend the liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian church.  The event was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Nov. 15, in the Interfaith ...

  The Church of England’s governing body has voted to back special services to bless same-sex couples on a trial basis.  The CoE — central to the entire Anglican Communion of 85 million believers across 165 countries — does not allow same-sex marriage, standing by its teaching that marriage is between a man and a woman.  But the church has been wrestling with ways to make people in the LGBTQ community feel more welcome, and it apologized in January for the “hostile and homophobic response” some had faced.  On Wednesday evening, Nov. 15, the Church's governing body narrowly voted in favour of blessing same sex couples.  Following years of debate, Wednesday's vote agreed that the trial services should “be introduced soon” the Church of England said, without specifying a date.  Bishops still have to give final clearance to the prayers in the services, which are trials and not final, settled church policy.  Welby, also leader of the worldwid...

Late Ice Hockey star, Adam Johnson had plans to propose to her before his sudden death.     His girlfriend, Ryan Wolfe heartbreakingly found the engagement ring he was planning to use to propose to her at their apartment in England, family friends said.     The 29-year-old American ice hockey star was killed after a skate slashed his throat in a collision during a match for the Nottingham Panthers against Sheffield Steelers on October 28.      But now it's emerged he was going to ask Wolfe, 24, to marry him after his family to her of his intentions following the discovery of the ring.   'His grandmother told me that he had shown her (Johnson's grandmother) the ring before he left and he was going to propose at some point,' Scott Pionk, whose son played college hockey with Johnson, told USA Today.     They're also reporting that a second friend of the Johnson family - who wished to remain anonymous confirmed Pionk’s accoun...

Boxing icon, Floyd Mayweather has announced his next fight against John Gotti III to take place on Saturday, February 10 - a day before Superbowl LVIII in Las Vegas.   Mayweather, 46, announced the event, which is titled 'Unfinished Business', on social media with the caption: "Kicking Off Super Bowl Weekend - Unfinished Business. See You Guys In Las Vegas. More Details Coming Soon!"  The venue and date are still to be confirmed by Mayweather's team.  Mayweather has had seven exhibition fights since retiring from professional boxing in 2017. He fought Gotti in June in Florida but the clash ended in a no-contest after referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight in the sixth round due to excessive trash-talking.   A federal judge has declared a mistrial after jurors failed to reach a verdict in the civil rights trial of a former Louisville police detective who was part of the botched raid that killed a black woman, Breonna Taylor in 2020.  Brett Hankison was charged with violating the civil rights of the 26-year-old Black woman, her boyfriend and her neighbours when he opened fire through a window and a sliding glass door into her apartment during the raid. Hankison was charged with two counts of deprivation of rights for firing 10 rounds through Taylor's bedroom window and sliding glass door, which were covered with blinds and a blackout curtain. Multiple bullets went through a wall into her neighbour's apartment. Investigators said none of Hankison's rounds hit anyone.  U.S. District Court Judge Rebecca Grady declared the mistrial after the jury, which began deliberations Monday, failed to reach a decision on both charges. Azealia Banks has alleged that Diddy once sent his ex-girlfriend Cassie on a 'vacation' to recover from being beaten by the rapper. As we previously reported, Diddy was hit with a $30 million lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend, whose full name is Cassandra Ventura. In her filing, she claimed that after meeting Diddy in 2005, he began a pattern of control and abuse that included plying her with drugs, beating her, and forcing her to have sex with a succession of male prostitutes while he filmed the encounters.   Reacting to the lawsuit,  Azealia reposted a headline about Cassie’s lawsuit and alleged that Diddy beat her up so badly that he had to send her to Hawaii for three weeks to recover from physical abuse so no one would question why her face was messed up. Kylian Mbappe has reportedly agreed a deal with PSG to forego significant bonuses he is owed.     The French superstar had wanted to leave the Parisians and join Real Madrid upon the expiry of his contract in the summer of 2022. However, he made a late U-turn and penned a new deal with the French giants until 2024, with the option of an extra year to 2025 that only he could activate.     In the summer, Mbappe was exiled from PSG's squad after he informed the club he would not be utilising that extension, and leave on a free transfer next summer.  He was subsequently left out of the club's pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea and forced to train with a group.      Later, Mbappe was then reintegrated after missing the first game of the season against Lorient.      According to French outlet RMC Sport, Mbappe was only allowed to return to the squad if he agreed to forego bonuses that he was owed.   ...

Nearly 450 patients at Salem Hospital in Massachusetts, U.S may have been exposed to hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and HIV due to improper administration of their IV medications, the hospital announced. The patients undergoing endoscopy at the hospital, located 20 miles northeast of Boston,  may have been exposed over a period of two years, according to a statement from Salem Hospital.   Endoscopy procedures occur when a doctor inserts a tube-like instrument into the body to look inside. Types of endoscopy procedures include those such as bronchoscopies, colonoscopies, and laparoscopies. Salem Hospital said patients may have been exposed during the administration of IV medications "in a manner not consistent with our best practice."   The hospital said it was made aware of the incidents earlier this year and that it corrected the practice and notified its quality and infection control teams.
