  Sinead O'Connor's remains have reportedly been released to her family following a post-mortem examination to determine a cause of death, according to reports. The Irish Grammy-winning singer was found unresponsive by police at her home in south-east London last week, with her death at the age of 56 being treated as not suspicious. The Irish Times reported on Thursday that the clerk of the London Inner South Coroner's Court, John Thompson, has confirmed an 'autopsy was conducted to secure a medical cause of death'. The newspaper said a statement issued by Mr. Thompson on behalf of senior coroner Andrew Harris stated the post-mortem examination report may not be received 'for some weeks'. It added that the conclusion will be publicly disclosed if an inquest is opened into her death.   An American mother of two has died after drinking roughly 64 ounces of water in just 20 minutes. Ashley Summers, 35, died from water toxicity shortly after spending a leisurely day at Lake Freeman over the long Fourth of July weekend.   On the last day of her trip, she felt lightheaded and had a headache, symptoms of dehydration, but no amount of water could satiate her thirst. She drank the equivalent of four 16oz (500ml) bottles, according to Mail Online. When Ms. Summers returned home, she collapsed in her garage, having suffered severe brain swelling. She never regained consciousness. At the hospital, doctors diagnosed her with water toxicity, also called hyponatremia, which develops as a result of there being too much water in the body and not enough sodium.   Barack and Michelle Obama have paid moving tributes to their personal chef who drowned while paddleboarding in eight feet of water near their Martha's Vineyard home. Sharing a photo of himself and the former first lady with tragic Tafari Campbell on Instagram, the former president wrote: 'Tafari Campbell showed us what true character looks like.   'He believed that actions speak louder than words. And he used his immense gifts to bring people together, provide comfort, and spread joy.   The military junta in the Niger Republic that carried out a coup that ousted the democratically elected President of the country, Mohamed Bazoum, has cut off ties with Nigeria and other countries.    This is coming after efforts of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) to resolve the ongoing impasse failed.   Days after ECOWAS issued a seven-day ultimatum for the reinstatement of President Mohamed Bazoum to avoid a possible clash with the junta, President Bola Tinubu sent a high-powered delegation to the country to meet with the coup leaders, on Thursday, August 3.    The delegation led by General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) could not meet with the leader of the junta.   Chelsea have completed the signing of defender Axel Disasi from Monaco for £40million. The French superstar has signed a six-year contract, with the Blues seeing off competition from Manchester United and Newcastle. After signing for the club, the 25-year-old told the club's official website: ‘It’s something I’ve been waiting for. ‘I am so happy to be here, at this big club.   Controversial Social media influencer, Andrew Tate has won his appeal in a Romanian court to be released from house arrest pending trial.   The Bucharest Court of Appeals said in a written ruling on Friday, August 4 that it "replaces the house arrest measure with that of judicial control for a period of 60 days from 4 August until 2 October."  Tate was indicted in June along with his brother Tristan and two Romanian female suspects for human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.   The Tate brothers are accused of tricking seven women into sexual exploitation on fake promises of a relationship or marriage - a technique authorities have labelled the "loverboy method".  It is alleged that the Tate brothers, along with the two Romanian female suspects, formed the group in 2021 to commit human trafficking in Romania and other countries - including the US and UK.   Former Arsenal star, Matteo Guendouzi had his house robbed while playing for Olympique Marseille against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday, August 2. According to French news outlet, La Provence, at around 10:30pm the midfielder's home in Cassis was broken into by burglars who smashed through his bedroom window. The report says that his partner was inside when the robbers entered the premises and managed to scare the intruders away but not before they stole his luxury Rolex which the paper claim is valued at £172,000.     Guendouzi joined the Ligue 1 outfit back in 2022 following a successful loan spell at the club that saw him re-locate from London to the south of France. His former Arsenal and Marseille team-mate, Sead Kolasinac had his home in Cassis burgled in January while he too was playing in a French cup tie. Veteran actor, Obinna Nwafor aka Saint Obi, will be buried on August 18.  This was disclosed in an obituary poster released by his family.   The iconic actor, 57, passed away on Monday May 7, following months of visiting the  hospital for treatment of an undisclosed ailment.  May his soul rest in peace, Amen.  See the obituary below.  

  A Premier League footballer has been 'released under investigation' over the alleged r@pe of three women following his arrest last summer.   The sportsman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was initially arrested in north London on July 4, 2022, on suspicion of rape and taken into custody.   In the following days, a second allegation of rape was made in relation to an incident in 2021, before a third woman came forward in February 2023.   The footballer was interviewed by police under caution over the offence, which is alleged to have taken place in February 2022. The top-flight star continued playing last season following multiple bail extensions, with the last one being in July.   He reported for his bail conditions earlier this week, but has since been informed he no longer has a specific date to report to police going forward.   As a result, the star will begin a second season 'under investigation', with the new campaign set to kick off n...
