Lisa Marie Presley died aged 54 in January from a small bowel obstruction caused by previous weight-loss surgery with opioids found in her blood at the time of her death, according to her autopsy reports.   The daughter of Elvis Presley was rushed to hospital on January 12 after going into cardiac arrest with an L.A. County Coroner report revealing the star died from sequelae (a condition which is the consequence of a previous disease or injury) of small bowel obstruction.   The bowel obstruction was in the form of strangulated small bowel, caused by adhesions that developed after bariatric surgery (stomach stapling) many years prior.   The toxicology results also show Lisa had 'therapeutic' levels of Oxycodone in her blood, with a second opioid Buprenorphine - which is used to treat opioid dependence also found.   There were also traces of Quetiapine, an antipsychotic drug, reports TMZ. There's been an uproar in Italy after a Judge acquitted a school caretaker of sexually assaulting a pupil because it "lasted less than ten seconds".   The teen was walking up a staircase at a school in Rome with a friend at the time of the incident. 66-year-old Antonio Avola had put his hand down the trousers of a 17-year-old girl before touching her buttocks and pulling on her underwear. Avola told her: “Love, you know I was joking.” The youngster reported the caretaker to police in April 2022. He admitted to touching the girl without her consent, but insisted it was a "joke".     Avola went on trial on charges of sexual assault, with prosecutors seeking a three-year jail term if he was convicted.  The judge however ruled that the grope lasted “between five and 10 seconds” and was therefore too fleeting to be considered a crime.   The ruling said that while the teenager’s account was credible, the “modalities” of the gesture left “margins of doubt” on t...

Lionel Messi has been spotted in Miami doing grocery shopping at US supermarket chain Publix ahead of his move to Inter Miami.   The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner was spotted pushing a cart at the grocery store's checkout with different types of cereal including General Mills' Lucky Charms and Kellogg's' Fruit Loops on Thursday.     Messi, who is set to earn $54million per year, landed in Miami on Tuesday with his wife, Antonela, and their three sons, Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 5.     The Argentine even had time to pose with some of his US fans during his shopping.   The 2022 World Cup winner was expected to sign his contract and be announced officially as a Miami player on Thursday,  but the announcement could be made today, Friday 14.  Messi is expected to make his Inter Miami debut against Mexican team Cruz Azul on July 21.

  13 Chinese nationals have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over offences bordering on illegal mining activities in Ilorin, Kwara State. The offence is contrary to, and punishable under Section 1(8) (b) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap M17, 1983.   A female and 12 male Chinese were arrested on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Government Reserved Area (G.R.A.), Ilorin, following credible intelligence about their activities, including illegal mining and non-payment of royalties to the Federal Government as required by law.   They've been identified as identified as Guo Ya Wang (36), Lizli Hui (42), Guo Jian Rong (36), Lizh Shen Xianian (37), Lishow Wu (26), Guo Pan (38), Lia Meiyu (53), Guo Kai Quan (36) and Lin Pan (50).   Others are Ma Jan (38), Wendy Wei Suqin (31), Li Zhinguo Wei (29) and Xie Zhinguo (53).   French President, Emmanuel Macron was sent a severed human finger by first-class post. The parcel containing the amputated body part arrived at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Monday, July 10.  ‘The finger was initially put in a fridge where the police put their snacks,’ said a source at the official presidential home. ‘This was to make sure it was preserved and could be analysed as quickly as possible.’   The finger was later identified as belonging to a ‘living human being,’ who was contacted and ‘given full medical support,’ the source said.   There was no note, or any other form of correspondence, accompanying the finger, leaving investigators baffled. ‘It’s not at all clear why this finger was sent to the president,’ the source said.   They noted the owner of the finger would not be identified, for a number of reasons including medical confidentiality.   Bullets are among the sinister items sent to French heads of state over the years, but this is t...

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star disclosed on the latest episode that there is no more bad blood between herself and Tristan Thompson, her ex-boyfriend and father of her two children, True and Tatum after he humiliated her with highly-publicized cheating scandals.   During a meal at Casa Vega, Khloe admitted that she was ready to move on and forgive, adding, 'It doesn't mean I forget what he's done.   Legendary rapper, Snoop Dogg has revealed he once kept a cockroach he named The Gooch as a pet for six months. The rapper, 51, disclosed this during a chat with the Canadian interviewer Nardwuar about the circumstances behind his adoption of the roach.   'Gooch used to live with me,' said the Drop It Like It's Hot performer, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr. The Young, Wild & Free rapper said his initial intentions were to rid his living space of the roach, but he was impressed by the insect's will to live.   'In my apartment, I had a roach that we couldn't kill,' the entertainer and marijuana advocate said.
