  A 62 year old man shot himself whilst dreaming he was being robbed. Mark M. Dicara, was found by police at his Illinois, USA home in April with a gunshot wound to the leg, the New York Post reports.  He told police officers he was having a nightmare about being robbed, which led him to get his .357 Magnum Revolver gun whilst still sleeping. ‘When he fired, he shot himself and apparently woke up from the dream,’ Lake County Sheriff’s Office said. The bullet went through his leg and into the bed. Police officers confirmed no burglary had actually taken place.   Dicara was charged with possessing a firearm with a revoked Firearm Owners Identification card, which is required in the state of Illinois. He was also charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and released on bail after posting a $150,000 bond.   He is due in court on June 29.  

Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has debunked claims of being on the run.    It was alleged that Malami l eft the country in a bid to evade arrest and investigation following the suspension of Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, over his conduct while in office by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday, June 14.    It was reported that the former Minister was invited by the EFCC who are interested to find out what led to the alleged loss of over $2.4 billion in revenue from the illegal sale of 48 million barrels of crude oil export in 2015 including all crude oil exports and sales by Nigeria from 2014 till date.    Speaking to Daily Trust, he said;    “I have not been invited by the EFCC or any other anti-corruption agency in Nigeria. Pope Francis is set to be discharged from Rome’s Gemelli hospital on Friday, June 16, the Vatican has annoinced.  The 86-year-old has had some health issues the last one year and early this month the Vatican announced he will be having abdominal surgery. The surgery was performed last week and the Roman Catholic church leader remained in Rome’s Gemelli hospital after undergoing the surgery. “The health care team that is following Pope Francis confirmed the Holy Father’s discharge from Policlinico A. Villarreal CEO, Roig Alfonso has denied receiving an offer from Real Madrid for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze. The 24-year-old scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions for Villarreal in the 2022/23 season.
