Footballer, Phil Jones has written a heartfelt letter to Manchester United fans after it was confirmed that he'd be leaving the club next month.   The former England international has spent 12 years at Old Trafford after signing from Blackburn Rovers as a teenager.  Legendary club boss Sir Alex Ferguson once predicted that Jones could've gone on to become United's "best ever player," but injury quickly ravaged his career and he's made just six Premier League appearances in the last four seasons for the club.   The Red Devils on Friday, May 19 announced that the 31-year-old defender would be exiting at the end of his contract in June.   Jones then took to social media to address supporters and wish manager Erik ten Hag, his staff and team-mates the best of luck. Award-winning rapper and actor, Ludacris has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,    He was honored with the 2,756th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, May 18, 2023.      The rapper -- born Chris Bridges -- was also honored with moving speeches from co-stars and collaborators LL Cool J and Vin Diesel, who showered Ludacris with affection and praise as they reflected on his journey throughout the years, and a surprise speech by his eldest daughter, Karma Bridges.      The My Chick Bad rapper welcomed, Karma, 21, from a previous relationship, and also shares daughters, Cai, Cadence, and Chance with wife, Eudoxie Bridges, whom he tied the knot with in 2014.      Other casts from 'Fast & Furious' Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster, and many others were also in attendance to support the actor and his family.      Ludacris shared that he was "blown away" by his frie...

Pregnant Rihanna has shared unseen maternity photoshoot from her first pregnancy ahead of Baby No. 2's arrival.     In the images, the Umbrella singer is seen wearing nothing but a gold bikini top featuring bejewelled tassel embellishments styled with a black lacy bikini bottom.      She accessorized her look with statement ornate gold rings, patterned gold armlet, silver chain-link and chunky bracelet, dangling earrings, and animal pattern pumps with killer high heels.     In the caption, the singer wrote: "Here's a little series I call 'Rub on ya titties'. In honour of my first pregnancy, embracing motherhood like a g, and the magic that this body made! Baby RZA...he in there not having a clue how nuts his mama is, or how obsessed he was bout to make me #maternityshoot2022 #tobecontinued."    Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are currently expecting their second child.   Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has filed an appeal against his conviction for murdering George Floyd, arguing that he was deprived of a fair trial by the decision not to move proceedings to another city.   Chauvin was convicted in April 2021 of killing Floyd in May 2020. The former Minneapolis police officer knelt on Floyd's neck during arrest, despite Floyd's pleas that he could not breathe.   The officer was sentenced to 22 and a half years in prison in June 2021, and has been behind bars in Arizona since then.   On Wednesday May 17, Chauvin filed a case before Minnesota Supreme Court claiming that he was not given a fair trial.   The petition came a month after he lost his appeal before the Minnesota Court of Appeals.   His attorney, William Mohrman, argued that the conviction was unfair for multiple reasons, including the massive pretrial publicity and the intense feeling of sympathy towards Floyd in the city of Minneapolis. ...

  The UK government has announced new sanctions against Russia, targeting imports of diamonds and other minerals in a bid to choke Moscow’s ability to fund the war in Ukraine.   Before a G7 summit in Japan began, London said it would introduce “a ban on Russian diamonds”, copper, aluminium, and nickel, and sanction more entities involved in Moscow’s “military-industrial complex”.   Russia’s diamond trade is estimated to be worth $4-5 billion a year, netting the Kremlin much-needed tax revenues.   Later in the day, the UK foreign office said the new sanctions would freeze the assets of 86 people and organisations.     These include “companies connected to theft of Ukrainian grain, and those involved in shipment of Russian energy”, it said.   The new sanctions will also target “advanced military technology and remaining revenue sources”.   The summit in Hiroshima is expected to bring a series of new sanctions on Russia, including US measures ...

  Founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Olori Omoba of Ijebuland, Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, is dead.   Balogun died in London this morning at the age of 89. His death has been confirmed by media personality, Dele Momodu, who wrote on Instagram;  “Diamonds are forever OVATION INTERNATIONAL magazine (since 1996)... Good night CHIEF OLASUMOMI BALOGUN... Rest in Peace Sir.”
