Paul Pogba was reduced to tears after he was substituted with another injury during his first competitive start in over a year on Sunday night as Juventus beat Cremonese 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium. The 30-year-old left Manchester United in the summer of 2022 and re-joined his old side Juventus on a free transfer but has barely played for the Italian giants this season due to injury.     His time at Old Trafford ended after he suffered a muscular injury and left the pitch during United's 4-0 loss to Liverpool back in April 2022. Two prison warders have been arrested in South Africa on charges relating to corruption for allegedly hooking up with inmates in return for privileges.  According to the Western Cape spokesperson for the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) Zinzi Hani, the two suspects, a warrant officer and a sergeant, were arrested on Monday morning, May 15, 2023.  "The two prison warders were arrested today after their morning parade for engaging in hook-ups with inmates in return for privileges, on charges relating to corruption,” Hani said.   "Their arrest emanates from information received about suspected warders who were receiving money from inmates in January this year.”   Hani said the two, aged 45 and 53, were arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption investigation team based in Bellville at the Goodwood Correctional Facility.    She said the crime is alleged to have occurred between March 2020 and 2021.   "This then led to the m...

Catholic priests in France will be forced to wear traffic-light coded identification tags to allow the public to check whether they may have faced se**al abuse charges. The scheme, announced by the Bishop's Conference of France, will allow easier identification of priests able to lead mass and hear confessions. Cards will feature a QR code, scannable by mobile phone, that will flag a red, orange, or green light depending on whether its holder had been stripped of clerical status.   But it also aims at protecting worshipers from se**al abuse, an issue made more pressing by revelations in November that 11 former or serving French bishops had been accused of abuse or had failed to report cases. Members of the public will see either a red light, an amber light, or a green light upon scanning one of the new cards. Britain's most senior black police officer has left his job after facing bullying and discrimination allegations.   Deputy Chief Constable Tyron Joyce, who heads the Police Race Action Plan which aims to tackle discrimination within forces and by officers towards the public, has retired following a complaint.   The allegations came from his second in command, The Telegraph reports, a senior female civil servant who has been named as Liz Unwin, a previous lead of the action programme.   Sources close to Mrs Unwin claimed to the newspaper that she had accused Mr Joyce of professionally undermining her in front of their colleagues, leading to a decline in her mental health.   Mrs Unwin was reportedly of equal rank to Mr Joyce and had decades of experience in police force teams and at the Foreign Office, but left her post in January and lodged a formal complaint. The Federal Government says 160 women claiming to be Nigerians in Sudan who are without passports, are to fly back to the country.    The Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mustapha Ahmed disclosed this during a chat with newsmen in Abuja on Sunday, May 14,  on the evacuation of Nigerians from war-torn Sudan.  Channels TV reports that Ahmed said the women claimed to be Nigerians but do not possess Nigerian passports to verify their claims. He said the agency is being careful not to evacuate persons who are not Nigerians.   It will be recalled that before the commencement of the evacuation exercise, the Nigerian Diaspora Commission had said there were about three million Nigerians in Sudan and a total of 5,000 students. However, the NEMA boss said apart from the 2,518 Nigerians that have so far been evacuated and 15 flights operated so far, the citizenship of many of those claiming to be Nigerians cannot be verified. ...

An Ohio priest, who was arrested in 2020, was found guilty by a federal jury of sex trafficking of a minor and now faces up to life in prison.   Michael J. Zacharias, 56, of Findlay, Ohio, was charged with five sex trafficking charges, including of a minor and of an adult by force, fraud, coercion, or enticement.   The Department of Justice said Zacharias, a priest at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Findlay, Ohio, who was ordained in 2002, was convicted of trafficking three victims when they were minors and adults.   The jury was presented evidence in court showing how he met the victims when they were young.
