Nine teenagers were shot early Sunday, April 23 at an after-prom party in Jasper, Texas, USA prompting an increased police presence at the town's high school this week, officials said.   Shortly after midnight on Sunday, deputies responded to a disturbance  with shots fired on County Road 263 north of Jasper, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post. "Upon arrival, nine victims were found to have non-life-threatening injuries," the statement said. "The incident erupted at an after-prom party that was being held at the residence on County Road 263. Most victims were transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital, and some were transferred to Christus St. Elizabeth for further treatment."   NBC Universal CEO, Jeff Shell is leaving the company after an outside investigation “into a complaint of inappropriate conduct,” its parent company Comcast announced Sunday, April 23..  The company said Shell will depart effective immediately in the wake of an investigation led by an outside counsel.   “Today is my last day as CEO of NBCUniversal. I had an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the company, which I deeply regret,” Shell said in a statement.  “I’m truly sorry I let my Comcast and NBCUniversal colleagues down, they are the most talented people in the business and the opportunity to work with them the last 19 years has been a privilege.”   The brief statement did not specify who the woman was or include any other details about the investigation.   Shell had been named CEO in January 2020 after leading content creation, programming and distribution for NBCUniversal Film and Entertainment.  Shell had expressed confidence in ...

  A former Idaho state trooper who resigned several years ago due to multiple criminal investigations into his conduct has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife in February 2021, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office announced.    Daniel Howard, 57, turned himself into police on Friday, April 21, 2023, to face charges of murder and domestic battery in the slaying of Kendy Howard, who left behind two adult children and a granddaughter.   Howard called police on the night of Feb. 2, 2021, and told officers that Kendy shot herself, according to the Coeur d’Alene Press.   Detectives now believe that the fatal gunshot wound was not self-inflicted.  Howard resigned from Idaho State Police in November 2014 as investigators looked into several crimes he committed across multiple counties.    Prosecutors alleged at the time that Howard threatened to kill his friend after he found out his wife was having an affa...
