A 29-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly posed as a high school student in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and attended classes for several days.   The woman, Hyejeong Shin, was charged with one count of providing a false government document with the intent to verify one’s identity or age.   Superintendent Aubrey Johnson of New Brunswick High School in New Jersey, said the woman attended classes for four days "before being found out and barred from entering district property."   Rihanna Colon, a sophomore at the high school, was unknowingly in a class with the woman.   "To know that a person with that intention was that close to me is even scarier," Colon told News 12 New Jersey.   Colon participated in one of two protests at the high school this week to demand answers from school administrators and ask for better security.   "Our children are in schools and we send them there hoping and praying that the...

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been sacked as Governor of Osun state by an Election Petition Tribunal chaired by Justice Tertse Kume. The tribunal sacked Adeleke following claims of overvoting in some polling units across the State.  In the majority judgement issued by two judges against one, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ordered that the Certificate of Return issued to Adeleke be withdrawn and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola.

  The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested six men for raping a 12-year-old girl in Katagum Local Government Area of the state.   Spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, January 27, 2023, said the suspects, aged between 40 and 50, confessed to have had carnal knowledge of the minor after luring her with monetary gifts ranging from N100 to N200.   "The case was referred from the Lower sharia court, Yayu town Chinade district Katagum LGA on the 18th of January 2023 for discreet investigation regarding a 12-year-old girl who was raped on different occasions," the statement read.    "A discreet investigation was conducted by the Gender Unit attached to SCID Bauchi state Police Command.   "However, the investigation pointed to the following suspects, namely; Mustapha kawu,40,Abubakar Bello, 50, Idriss Yakubu, 40, Nasiru Dalhatu, 40, Idris Sarkin Ruwa,50, Abubakar Jallaba, ...

A disabled 14-year-old who was raped by her own uncle has been refused an abortion in Poland, sparking outrage in the conservative country.   Two separate hospitals in her region of Podlasie have reportedly refused to treat her or even tell her where she could receive a legal abortion, a violation of their law.   The Catholic nation has some of the strictest laws on abortion in Europe, and doctors can even refuse to provide them on ethical grounds. Termination is only legal when the pregnancy is the result of a criminal act such as rape or incest, or when the woman's health is at risk.   The girl, who did not understand she was pregnant, was taken by her aunt to doctors who treated them 'brutally and inhumanely', she claimed.   The aunt had even provided documents from a prosecutor saying an alleged rape had occurred and an abortion would be lawful, but doctors still turned them away.    They were allegedly told: 'Not here, go away.
