30-year-old Lucien Laviscount is reportedly being considered to lead the James Bond film franchise, amid speculation over who will replace Daniel Craig in the iconic role. Some British publications reported that Lucien recently caught the eye of producer Barbara Broccoli, 62, who co-owns Eon Productions, which is the production company behind the franchise. Daily Mail reported that Lucien's performance in Emily in Paris where he plays the main character's love interest, Alfie, is what landed him as a frontrunner for the job. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s last words before he died have been revealed. The former Pope died on Saturday, Dec,. 31, at the age of 95. According to his longtime secretary, the Pope's final words were, "Lord, I love you." Archbishop Georg Gaenswein quoted a nurse who was helping the 95-year-old and heard the words shortly before his death on New Year’s Eve. The nurse recalled Benedict making the short statement at about 3 a.m. before he died later that morning, Gaenswein said. "Benedict XVI, with a faint voice but in a very distinct way, said in Italian, ‘Lord, I love you,’" Gaenswein told the Vatican’s official media Sunday, Jan. 1. "I wasn’t there in that moment, but the nurse a little later recounted it. They were his last comprehensible words, because afterwards, he wasn’t able to express himself any more."

Gigi Jordan, the millionaire pharmaceutical executive convicted of manslaughter in the death of her 8-year-old son, was found dead inside her Brooklyn home in what cops are investigating as a possible suicide.   Her body was found around 12:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at her apartment in Stuyvesant Heights, just hours after US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor issued an order that was expected to send Jordan, 62, back to prison.   The cause of death has yet to be determined, but sources said a note was found at the scene.   Brazilian football legend, Pele will be buried on the ninth floor of a vertical cemetery, overlooking the Santos football pitch in his beloved home city, to honour his father who wore the No 9 shirt as a player. Pele will be laid in the vault at the Memorial Necropole Ecumenica on Tuesday, January 3, just a mile away from the stadium that made him famous. It was reported that the  Brazilian player spent a long time thinking about where he wanted to be buried before deciding on his final resting place by paying homage to his father, Dodinho. Dodinho, who died in 1996, was a centre-forward who wore the No 9 shirt. In a mark of respect to his father, Pele chose to be buried on the ninth floor of the world's tallest, vertical cemetery, the Mirror reports.   The vertical cemetery was built in 1983 and has more than 14,000 vaults. A grandfather allegedly stabbed his 8-year-old grandson to death at a north Texas home just hours into the New Year, according to local cops. Phillip Hughes, 62, was arrested early Sunday, Jan. 1, after police found the young boy dead when they responded to a reported stabbing around 7:50 a.m., Richland Hills police said. Hughes was taken into custody without incident and is being held on capital murder charges while he waits for his arraignment.   The investigation is ongoing, but police said they do not believe anyone else was involved in the young boy’s fatal stabbing. "The Richland Hills Police Department would like to express its condolences to those affected by the senseless tragedy and ask for continued prayers for everyone involved," the department said in a statement.

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has been sworn in as Brazil's president while his predecessor Jair Bolsonaro flee to the US after refusing to concede defeat   In a speech to Congress on Sunday after officially taking the reins of Latin America's biggest country, Lula said democracy was the true winner of the October presidential vote when he ousted Bolsonaro.  'Democracy was the great victor in this election, overcoming ... the most violent threats to freedom to vote, and the most abject campaign of lies and hate plotted to manipulate and embarrass the electorate,' Lula told lawmakers.   Lula, who was behind bars during Bolsonaro's 2019 inauguration on graft convictions that were later overturned, issued a threat to his predecessor.   Bolsonaro faces mounting legal risks for his anti-democratic rhetoric and his handling of the pandemic now that he no longer has presidential immunity. Former Arsenal footballer, Jermaine Pennant has reportedly been declared bankrupt after accumulating debts of over £1million.    Birmingham County Court has issued a one-year bankruptcy order to the ex-Premier League star, who owes money to creditors including HMRC, councils, banks and utility companies.   The 39-year-old's media company Jermaine Pennant Ltd, which was set up following his TV appearances on shows such as Celebrity Big Brother, was dissolved in 2020.   The former midfielder is now understood to have defaulted on his mortgage payments.   A source close to Pennant told The Sun: 'He owes stacks of cash all over the place.   'His debts are into seven-figures.   'His debts to the taxman and banks are huge.   'He has defaulted on mortgage payments and will likely have property repossessed.'
