  Las Vegas police has arrested a man on suspicion of murder in the 1996 shooting of hip-hop star Tupac Shakur.  Duane "Keffe D" Davis was arrested early Friday morning, Sept. 29, although the exact charge or charges were not immediately clear.      An indictment was expected later on Friday, AP reports.    Shakur was wounded in a drive-by shooting near the Las Vegas Strip on Sept. 7, 1996. He died in a hospital six days later (Sept. 13) at the age of 25.   Davis has admitted in interviews and in his 2019 tell-all memoir, “Compton Street Legend,” that he was in the Cadillac from which the gunfire erupted during the shooting, the AP said.    In July this year, Las Vegas police served a search warrant at the Henderson, Nevada, home of Davis’ wife, Pamela Clemons, as part of Shakur’s homicide investigation.    Cops confiscated several computers, laptops and iPads from the home, as well as a .40-caliber cartridge — the ...

A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Aniebonem and five others have been detained by the anti-kidnapping section of the police at Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State over alleged membership of Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). A man who advocated for XL Bullies amid the upcoming ban on the violent dog breed has been mauled by one. Ben Cźyżyk from Wolverhampton, West Midlands, was attacked at around 10pm on Friday, September 22.   Ben had asked the dog's owner to get it under control as it was off its lead. However, the owner allegedly set the XL Bully on Ben before also joining to attack the 38-year-old father-of-three.   Ben was left with puncture wounds and deep bruising following the incident. He also has 12 fractures in one eye socket.       He had previously spoken out against banning the breed. While he does not own an XL Bully, he is a dog owner.   He previously said online: “Any breed can be taught to be aggressive. A personal trainer suffered a penis injury when he attempted to enlarge his manhood by lifting weights.   The 24-year-old man from India ended up with his penis stuck in a metal plate weighing roughly 3kg.   The unnamed man's case is detailed by medics in the journal Urology Case Reports.   The man believed he could grow the muscles of his penis like every other muscle so he devised a dangerous plan.   He inserted his penis into the hole of the weight plate while it was flaccid before getting himself hard. Hulk Hogan, 69, has married for the third time.   The wrestling icon married Sky Daily, a mom-of-three, on Friday night, Sept. 22, in a ceremony in Clearwater, Florida.   The wedding between the wrestler and yoga instructor was a low-key affair, with only their nearest and dearest ones present.     The former WWE and WCW star has two children, Brooke, 35, and Nick, 32, from his first marriage.   Son Nick was at the wedding on Friday and shared images on Instagram. His sister Brooke did attend the wedding.   Hulk Hogan’s first marriage was to Linda Hogan . They were together between 1983 and 2009. After divorcing, he married Jennifer McDaniel the following year, from whom he separated in 2021. The World Bank has approved a fresh $700m loan for Nigeria. It disclosed this in a statement published on its website on Friday, Sept. 22. The new loan is to provide additional funds for an ongoing project known as the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment. The statement read: “The World Bank approved additional financing of $700m for Nigeria to scale up the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment programme whose goal is to improve secondary education opportunities among girls in targeted states. “The additional financing will scale up project activities from the current seven states to eleven additional states and increase the targeted beneficiaries to include out-of-school girls, those who are married, and those who have disabilities.” The statement added, “In the seven AGILE programme implementing states – Borno, Ekiti, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, and Plateau – the number of girls in secondary schools has increased from about 900,00...

  A man in Jacksonville accused of impregnating and then killing his teenage niece has been found guilty of first-degree murder in Florida.   Johnathan Quiles, 38, was also found guilty of sexual battery and the murder of the teen's unborn child after the Florida jury deliberated for about an hour.   Iyana Sawyer was 16-years-old when she disappeared in 2018. Though her body has never been found, a jury has concluded that Quiles killed her and her unborn child sometime in December of that year.   Ms Sawyer was last seen on December 19, 2018. She left her high school during her lunch period and traveled to a junkyard where Quiles was working at the time.   Police believe Quiles killed the girl, put her body in a dumpster and hid or destroyed it at a landfill.   Quiles' attorneys argued that the girl was likely still alive and tried to bar the prosecutors from using the word "victim" to describe Ms Sawyer.   However,...

Sheffield United footballer, Maddy Cusack has died at the age of 27, the club has revealed. Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped a place in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola world ranking. The Super Eagles who were ranked 39th in the rankings released in June, lost three points and dropped to 40th despite their  6-0 victory against  Sao Tome and Principe in their last game of the AFCON qualifiers. Blac Chyna has reportedly served her ex-partner Tyga's mother, Pasionaye Nguyen, with legal papers seeking joint custody of their son, King Cairo.      According to reports from  RadarOnline , the model served Tyga’s mom with legal papers as she battles with her ex over custody of their son, King Cairo.     The mother of two hired a process server to track down the rapper at his home in Los Angeles, according to court documents obtained by the outlet.     The server made his way to the West Hollywood residence on September 1, telling the court that he handed Tyga’s mother, Pasionaye Nguyen, the paperwork at 7:03 PM. Julian Nagelsmann has been officially announced as the new head coach of the German national team. The German Football Association announced today that the former Bayern Munich manager will succeed Hansi Flick as the new manager of the senior men's national side.   Germany parted ways with Flick earlier this month, a day after their 4-1 home loss to Japan in a friendly match. Nagelsmann agreed to a contract that runs until the end of next year's European Championship in Germany.   Olympic gold medallist, Walewska Oliveira has died suddenly at the age of 43.     Oliveira played volleyball for Brazil and won gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. A man accused of killing nearly two dozen older women, and convicted of murdering two, was killed Tuesday morning, Sept. 19, by his cellmate at a Texas prison, an official said. Billy Chemirmir, 50, was serving two consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole when he was found dead in his cell, Texas Department of Criminal Justice spokeswoman Hannah Haney said. Chemirmir’s cellmate, who is serving a sentence for murder, was identified as the assailant, but Haney said she couldn’t release the cellmate’s identity or how Chemirmir was killed. Chemirmir, a former healthcare worker, allegedly killed 13 elderly women in their homes in Dallas County and nine women in Collin County, the  Dallas Morning News reported. Chemirmir is accused of smothering the women at their homes or senior centers and then stealing their jewelry to sell. The deaths of many of the women were initially ruled as natural causes.   Rwandan President Paul Kagame has said he plans to run for a fourth term in elections due to be held next year. A former rebel chief, Kagame became president in April 2000 but has been regarded as the country’s de facto leader since the end of the 1994 genocide.  He was returned to office with more than 90 percent of the vote in elections in 2003, 2010, and 2017.   “Yes, I am indeed a candidate,” Kagame, who has ruled over the country with an iron fist for decades, told Jeune Afrique, a French-language news magazine, in an interview published online on Tuesday, September 19.   “I am pleased with the confidence that Rwandans have placed in me. Chioma Nnadi, a 44-year-old journalist of Nigerian and Swiss-German descent has been named as the new head of editorial content at British Vogue. She will be taking over from Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief who enjoyed a six-year tenure as both the prestigious fashion magazine’s first male and first black editor. Enninful announced his resignation in June. Nnadi who is currently the editor of the New York-based Vogue, will be known as head of editorial content, rather than editor-in-chief. She has spent 13 years as a writer and news director for the magazine.   Nnadi’s appointment also makes her the first black female head of the industry-leading fashion magazine.

YouTube has stopped British comedian Russell Brand from being able to earn any money through his channel for violating its ’'Creator Responsibility policy' amid allegations of rape and sexual abuse. The 48-year-old produces around five videos a week for his 6.6million subscribers, earning him an estimated £1million a year.  Under the terms of his suspension, he will still be allowed to post videos on the platform but will not receive any of the advertising revenue.   French defender,  Benjamin Mendy has made his return to football after two years out of the game.   The former Manchester City and France defender came off the bench for Lorient as a second-half substitute against ex-side Monaco in Ligue 1.  Mendy, 29, had been accused of carrying out sex attacks on two women at his £4million mansion.   Former Super Falcons striker, Desire Oparanozie has been conferred with honourary membership of the Imo State Football Association. Oparanozie disclosed this on her X handle on Monday morning September 18 . "Over the weekend I was conferred as an Honorary member of the Imo State Football Association,” Oparanozie wrote. “Special appreciation to the Imo State FA Chairman and it’s executive committee members for such an honour. A recognition I do no take for granted. Long live Imo State.“ Last week Oparanozie announced her retirement from professional football.   She helped the Falcons win four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles in 2010, 2014, 2016 and 2018.   The 29-year-old was part of the Super Falcons squad that featured at the 2023 FIFA women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.   It was her fourth appearance at the World Cup after making her debut at the 2011 edition in Germany.
