  Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie and his wife, May, are bereaved as they lost their first son, Kambilichukwu Leo Yul-Edochie, on Wednesday, March 29.   According to reports, Kambilichukwu had read throughout the night on Tuesday in preparation for his exams on Wednesday. After his examination on Wednesday, he joined his friends to play football. While playing, he slumped and developed a seizure. He was immediately rushed to the Mother and Child hospital where he was confirmed dead.   Kambilichukwu turned 16 in January 2023 and his parents took to social media to celebrate him.      May his soul rest in peace, Amen🙏🙏🙏

  A woman has been arrested in France and faces a criminal trial for posting a slogan referring to President Emmanuel Macron as 'garbage' on Facebook. The 50-year-old woman named as only Valerie, was placed in police custody for the alleged offence.   She is accused of 'publicly insulting' the French President, who has witnessed millions take to the streets in protest to his controversial move to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 without a parliamentary vote.   'I asked them if it was a joke,' Valerie told the Voix du Nord (Voice of the North) newspaper. Actress Priyanka Chopra has shared the feeling she had after she froze her eggs.    The actress who spoke up in support of women freezing their eggs, said she felt so much freedom when she did that and it allowed her to focus on herself.    Priyanka said;    "I did it in my early 30s. I could continue on an ambitious warpath that I wanted to achieve. I wanted to get to a certain place in my career. I also hadn't met the person I wanted to have children with or I didn't see that. That's anxiety-inducing. [I was] 35, and my mom's an OB-GYN who's like, '36 — Just do it.'  “I tell everyone to [freeze their eggs]. The UAE has appointed Sheikh Mansour as their new Vice President. In a statement carried out by the state news agency Wam, Sheikh Mohamed made the vice presidential appointment in his capacity as Head of State. The UAE president issued a resolution, with the approval of the UAE Federal Supreme Council, to appoint Mansour bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister of the Presidential Court as UAE Vice President.     The president also named his son Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed as the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, the richest of the UAE’s seven emirates, a post that has traditionally signified the next in line to the presidency. Sheikh Mansour has served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, along with a number of key positions in business and with Abu Dhabi's wealth funds. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was named as president last May following the death of his half-brother Sheikh Khalifa.

Priyanka Chopra is opening up about her love life.   The former Miss World winner had a candid chat with Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert.   During the chat, the actress revealed that she was in a tumultuous relationship when her now husband, Nick slipped into her DM and asked her for her number.  Without revealing the name of the man she was dating at the time, Priyanka said, "He (Nick) slid into my DMs on Twitter. I was in a tumultuous relationship at that time.   Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is now being investigated by the police after appearing to use his mobile phone while driving. The 22-year-old Norwegian striker appeared to be using the device while driving a £300,000 Rolls Royce. The incident happened in New Islington, an area of Manchester which is close to the Etihad. He was pictured driving the same car later that day. He was reportedly pictured using his phone while driving on Wednesday, March 15, the day after he scored five goals in City's 7-0 victory against Champions League rivals RB Leipzig. Footage of the incident only emerged on Monday night. The Greater Manchester Police has now confirmed he's being investigated. A spokesperson said, "I can confirm that GMP is aware of the image and is investigating."

  "Love & Hip Hop: New York" star, Brittney Taylor has been arrested after allegedly assaulting her kids' father with a baseball bat. Security operatives told TMZ that Brittney got into a physical altercation earlier this month with Afeez , father of her 2-year-old and 8-month-old. She turned herself in last week after a warrant was issued for her arrest.   The alleged beating came after Afeez flew to NY to see his kids, although he'd been keeping his distance due to some bad blood between him and Brittney.   The incident occurred after Brittney said something which he ignored while he and his mom were leaving the apartment with the kids.   In the criminal complaint obtained by TMZ, Afeez told cops Brittney punched him in the face while his kids were present.  Afeez then left the residence, but cops say Brittney followed him out with the bat, hitting him and leaving him with a laceration and significant facial bleeding.   Afeez ended up goi...

  Captain of the Super Eagles, Ahmed Musa has now earned the most Nigerian international caps after playing against Guinea-Bissau in Nigeria’s second leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Monday, March 27. A member of Imo state house of assembly, Hon. Arthur Egwim is dead. Egwim died on Monday, March 27, after being diagnosed of cancer. The lawmaker from Orlu zone was first elected into the Assembly in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and reelected in 2019 under Action Alliance party. He was House Committee Chairman on Finance and Public Accounts. Egwim was also the House Committee Chairman on Chieftaincy Affairs and Autonomous Communities and House Committee Chairman on Judiciary.

Imprisoned Death Row Records co-founder, Marion "Suge" Knight is reportedly planning to turn his d rama-filled life story into a TV series that goes even deeper into his infamous timeline than anything the public already knows. TMZ Hip Hop reported that Suge and his brother, Brian Brown , are collaborating on a TV project that begins filming this summer. The PSG superstar inspired Argentina to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup after defeating the defending champions France on penalties 4-2 in Qatar. The Illinois Supreme Court has granted a victim of R Kelly’s sexual assault $4 million to be paid from the singer’s Sony Music royalty account. The Illinois Supreme Court granted Heather Williams priority access to R. Kelly’s Sony Music royalty account, to pay the $4 million default judgment awarded to Williams from a civil suit filed in 2019.   Williams filed a civil suit in 2019 alleging that the singer coerced her into a sexual relationship when she was 16 years old, promising that she could be in a music video and repeatedly had sex with her while she was a minor.   The Illinois Supreme Court ruled that Williams was first in line to receive money from Kelly’s Sony Music royalty account ahead of Midwest Commercial Funding, a property manager that won a separate $3.5 million ruling against Kelly over unpaid rent for a Chicago studio.   R Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison in June 2022 for federal sex trafficking charges.   A 17-year-old babysitter identified as Naledi Roberts has been charged with child abuse after allegedly forcing a toddler to inhale cannabis from a lit joint. In the video she recorded, Roberts was seen placing the lit joint in the one-year-old girl's mouth who inhaled as the embers at the end of the cigarette glowed brighter. She then took it out of the child's mouth and placed it into her own before inhaling. Daily Mail reported that Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office arrested Roberts on Friday, March 24, after detectives discovered the footage she had recorded.  Upon being questioned, Roberts admitted to smoking marijuana near the tot, who she was babysitting for her 16-year-old friend. However, after she was confronted with the footage, Roberts went on to admit she had put the joint into the child's mouth. A high school senior who boasted on TikTok that she had never been involved in an accident was killed just days later when a car rammed into her vehicle. Kara Santorelli, 18, was driving down Highway 29 in Escambia County, Florida, when a Chevrolet sedan came speeding the wrong way and smashed into her Nissan SUV, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Santorelli died in the wreck which occurred on March 17. The other driver, who has yet to be identified, also died after being trapped in their own vehicle. Following the fatal crash, Santorelli’s TikTok video, which was posted six days before the incident, has gone viral with more than 15 million views.     In the video, the teen boasts about her safety record as she poses inside her vehicle with the caption: “When they try call me a bad driver but I’ve never hit a person or an actual car.”   Gina Southard, Santorelli’s aunt, said her family was heartbroken following the accident, writing on Facebook: “A lit...

  The Lagos state police command has arrested one Annie Ofili, for allegedly stabbing her friend, Glory Okon, to death at her residence at Greenville Estate, Badore, in Ajah area of the state.   An argument ensued between the friends which degenerated into a scuffle after Okon visited Ofili at home.    It was gathered that during the scuffle, Ofili reached for a knife in the kitchen and allegedly used it to stab her friend in the neck. An eyewitness told Punch that no one knew what caused the scuffle, adding that when they heard them shouting at each other, efforts to open the door to separate them proved abortive. Zimbabwean Actor Jerome Galiao who played Dr Nyasha Mugari in “scandals” has been arrested for beating his wife.    H-Metro reported that the 38-year-old actor was taken into custody on Monday, March 27, at Linden Police Station in Randburg. His case is under reference number CAS 280/3/2023, and he is expected to make a court appearance today, March 28, on charges of domestic violence.   A source told the publication;    “Jerome is in police custody in Randburg. He was arrested last night for domestic violence. He is in the cells and will appear in court on Tuesday (today). You can contact SAPS for more information. This is not the first time he has bashed her.”   When Jerome’s wife, Nerissa Mema, was contacted, she declined to comment, insisting that she needs some privacy.

  Transatlantic military alliance, NATO has slammed Vladimir Putin after he announced plans to station tactical nuclear weapons in neighboring Belarus. Putin said his plan to send tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus was similar to the United States stationing its weapons in Europe, insisting that Russia would not violate its nuclear non-proliferation promises.   The move is one of Russia's most pronounced nuclear signals yet and a warning to NATO over its military support for Ukraine, which has called for a meeting of the U.N. Security Council in response.   "Russia's nuclear rhetoric is dangerous and irresponsible," NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu said on Sunday, March 26. "NATO is vigilant and we are closely monitoring the situation. We have not seen any changes in Russia's nuclear posture that would lead us to adjust our own." Tottenham head coach Antonio Conte', has left the club, bringing an end to his reign as manager three months before the end of his contract. Cristian Stellini will take over as acting head coach with Ryan Mason his assistant. Conte leaves the club after his furious outburst in which he criticised the “spirit” and professionalism of his players, accusing them of being “selfish”, after last Saturday's 3-3 draw with Southampton.   Another dramatic scene played out at Rihanna's home as a thief showed up and drove off with one of her driver's cars. Security operatives told TMZ that the driver said he pulled up at Rihanna's Los Angeles home late last week, running inside to grab something while leaving the keys in the whip, with the engine running.  The driver came back out to find the 2012 Audi sedan was gone. For obvious reasons, he believes someone just jumped in and took off with it. It's unclear if Rihanna was home at the time of the incident.   LAPD is investigating, but it appears the suspect made a clean escape. This is coming days after a man also showed up at Rihanna's house to propose to her.  

The founder of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Revd Fr Ejike Mbaka has warned that politics being played by Nigerian politicians is dividing Nigerians.   Mbaka, speaking at the Adoration ground, Umuchigbo-Nike, Enugu, while celebrating the Catholic Mothering Sunday, said politicians are "hawks and vultures"   He said politicians offended God during the just-concluded 2023 elections but he had begged God for forgiveness on their behalf.   Mbaka said, “I apologise on behalf of all the priests and pastors for our shortcomings, particularly during the election and in this political period. We have offended God in the process but let God forgive us because we got it wrong. “The power of God is above any rigging, the country is rotten, let us use the times we are expending for politicking to search for solutions to our problems. Politics is now dividing Nigerians and all these politicians I call them political hawks and vultures.”

  Marvel actor, Jonathan Majors' attorney has come out to claim that the actor is the victim of a domestic altercation for which he was arrested.   In a statement on Sunday March 26, Majors' attorney, Priya Chaudhry said he is 'completely innocent and is probably the victim of an alteration with a woman he knows.'   She previously said she expects the charges against the star to be dropped, citing video evidence she says exonerates him of the assault on his girlfriend, who she claims recanted her statements.   Majors, 33, was taken into custody on Saturday morning on assault charges after being accused of beating his girlfriend inside a vehicle.   He was released on his own recognizance, and is expected to return to a Manhattan courtroom in May.   In her statement, Chaudhry noted that her team is 'quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.'   She also ...

  A Virginia woman has been found guilty of murdering her two young daughters in an attempt to get revenge on her ex-husband, who planned to move away with one of the girls.   Veronica Youngblood, 37, had admitted that she killed her kids — 15-year-old Sharon Castro and 5-year-old Brooklynn Youngblood — but she pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to the Aug. 5, 2018 murders, according to the Washington Post.   However, the jury was not convinced that mental illness was a major factor in the killings.   The panel on Wednesday, March 22, convicted Youngblood, a former sex worker who defense attorneys said was physically and sexually abused by her own family, of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of felony firearm use, the newspaper reported.   During the trial, Fairfax County Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Kelsey Gill described Youngblood as a malicious, selfish and deliberate killer.   As her teenage daughter ...

  Five men were burnt to death after they allegedly attempted to snatch a tricycle operator of his tricycle in Onitsha, Anambra State.    The incident occurred at old Nkpor road, close to the headquarters of People’s Club, in the commercial city of Onitsha on Saturday, March 25, 2023. According to an eyewitness, the suspects allegedly tried to steal a tricycle from the owner in broad daylight when they ran out of luck and were caught.   “Mob who gathered after the men were rounded up, refused the advice of some people to call in the police. They first started by striping the men naked and beating them up, and eventually, some people brought old tyres and fuel, and they were set ablaze. It was a very bad sight today, and everyone watched and supervised, while the men burnt to death,” he said.  

Former Chief of Staff under late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, Oladipo Diya, is dead.  His death was announced in a statement released by his son, Prince Oyesinmilola Diya, on Sunday morning,  March 26.     It reads “On behalf of the entire Diya family home and abroad; We announce the passing on to Glory of our dear Husband,Father, Grandfather, brother, Lt- General Donaldson Oladipo Oyeyinka Diya (retd) GCON, LLB, BL, PSC, FSS, mni. Our dear Daddy passed onto glory in the early hours of 26th March 2023. Please keep us in your prayers as we mourn his demise in this period.   Marvel actor, Jonathan Majors has been arrested for reportedly assaulting a woman following a domestic dispute.   The 33-year-old actor was arrested on Saturday March 25, over accusations of assault, strangulation, and harassment involving a woman in a New York apartment.     He is said to have been involved in an alleged domestic dispute with a 30-year-old woman, though a representative for Majors denied any wrongdoing by the actor.   Police responded at around 11am to a 911 call inside an apartment in the Manhattan neighbourhood of Chelsea.   "The victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident.   "The victim sustained minor injuries to her head and neck and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition," a spokesperson for the NYPD said in a statement.   He was no longer in police custody as of Saturday night, the NYPD spokesperson confirmed to The Associated Press. ...
