  A woman allegedly cut off her boyfriend's penis after he threatened to spread their sex tapes because she refused to sleep with him.   The unnamed woman, 28, is said to have attacked her partner, also 28, on Feb. 25, when they were at a hotel in Sibolga, North Sumatra, in Indonesia.   The woman was pictured in police detention with cable ties around her wrists. She has not yet been charged, according to reports.     According to police, the wild incident started when the boyfriend made advances on the woman but she "was not in the mood".   Witnesses said the pair, who had been together for more than half a year, were not heard arguing.   Accused Idaho murderer, Bryan Kohberger could face a firing squad if he is found guilty of the homicide of four college students in 2022.   Lawyers are believed to be gearing up for the possibility of a death penalty trial for the 28-year-old criminal justice major - who remains the only suspect in the November 13 slayings of the University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20 and Xana Kernodle, 20.   Prosecutors haven't yet indicated whether they intend to pursue the death penalty for Kohberger, although it seems likely they will, given the gravity of his alleged crimes.     Republican state lawmaker, Rep. Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, have missed out of qualification for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, after losing to Angola.   D’Tigers, who went into the game on Sunday night, February 26 after victories against Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea, needed to beat Angola and hope Cape Verde lose to Côte d’Ivoire but instead Cape Verde beat Côte d’Ivoire and D’Tigers went down 65 – 69. In the final Group E standing, Côte d’Ivoire finished top, Angola were runners-up and Cape Verde third and all three qualified for the World Cup.   D’Tigers came fourth,  while Guinea finished fifth and Uganda sixth.

  The Nigerian Labour Congress has called out the Independent National Electoral Commission over handling of the presidential and national assembly elections held last weekend, February 25. The NLC in a statement signed by its President, Joe Ajaero, accused INEC of violating its own electoral guidelines after some of its officials were accused of being reluctant to transmit the BVAS reports for the Presidential elections to the official INEC Servers.   NLC also asked INEC to launch an investigation into the activities of one of its officials in the ICT department who may have been responsible for technically jamming the airwaves, making it difficult for BVAS results to be transmitted to the Servers. The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has opened the National Collation Center where results from the 2023 Presidential election held on Saturday, February 25, are being collated.   INEC chairman, Yakubu Mohammed, declared the collation center opened this afternoon.  He said proceedings will be suspended for now and resume at 6pm when states would have started arriving with their collated results.

Joe Biden has made it clear again that he will use his veto power if Congress passes a national abortion ban in the United States of America.  The U.S president wrote on Instagram: "If Congress passes a national abortion ban, I will veto it."  Earlier this month, during the State of the Union address, Biden urged Congress to make abortion legal for Americans.  

  Chelsea manager Graham Potter has disclosed that he and his family received anonymous death threats following the Premier League club’s poor run of results. Using marijuana every day can raise a person’s risk of coronary artery disease, or CAD, by a third compared with those who never used Marijuana, a new study has found.   “A growing body of evidence suggests that cannabis is not entirely without harm and may actually cause cardiovascular disease,” said lead study author Dr. Ishan Paranjpe, a resident physician at Stanford University.   The study which has not yet been published will be presented on Sunday, February 26 at the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology. “Thus, the decision to use cannabis must be carefully weighed against the potential for serious heart disease,” Paranjpe said. Coronary artery disease is caused by plaque buildup in the walls of the arteries that supply blood to the heart.   Cryptocurrency mogul, Sam Bankman-Fried has been accused of making tens of millions of dollars of illegal campaign contributions to elected officials. The new 12-count indictment adds four more charges related to the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, which prosecutors say was a “multibillion-dollar fraud.” Bankman-Fried, 30, became one of the biggest Democratic donors in the country during last year’s midterm elections, with a net worth estimated at one point to be greater than $20 billion and dreams of spending up to $1 billion on the 2024 presidential contest. Disgraced Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for a rape conviction in Los Angeles, adding to a more than two-decade-long sentence already handed down in New York. Weinstein, 70, was convicted in the Los Angeles case in December, three years after he was convicted at a sex crimes trial in New York City.   A US billionaire financier,  Thomas H. Lee, who helped pioneer the debt-fuelled corporate acquisition known as a leveraged buyout has been found dead. In a statement, Thomas H Lee's family said they were "extremely saddened" by the 78-year-old's death. According to the New York Post, he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his Manhattan office. He was found dead on Thursday morning at 767 Fifth Avenue. The address is where the offices of Thomas H Lee Capital LLC are listed. According to Forbes, Mr Lee was worth $2bn (£1.6bn) at his time of death.   A woman bit off her accused rapist’s tongue and handed it to police as evidence after she was allegedly attacked in the early hours of the morning while walking her dog. The alleged attack happened  in Avignon, a small city in the south of France, The unnamed woman, 57, was walking her dog in the early hours of the morning last Sunday (February 19) when she was attacked by a stranger. The attacker allegedly tried to forcefully hug and kiss her while slipping his hands down her trousers, according to France Bleu.  After the struggle, she managed to bite the alleged aggressor's tongue off before returning home.  She then brought the severed chunk of flesh to local police, accompanied by her son.   A boy who went missing 8 months ago has been found alive nearly 2,000 miles from home.  Breadson John, of Vancouver in Washington, was found in Jasper, Missouri, on Feb. 17, the FBI’s Seattle division confirmed on Tuesday, Feb. 21.   Breadson, who also goes by the nickname Brxsan, was first listed as missing on June 17, 2022, when Vancouver police were unable to locate the boy during a welfare check after family members became concerned.    At the time of his disappearance, authorities said Breadson might have traveled to Hawaii, where he was born, or  to Arizona or the Pacific island nation of the Federated States of Micronesia.  Investigators learned that the boy was possibly in Missouri in August, and subsequently recovered him with the help of local police, according to KGW8.  As of Wednesday, Feb. 22, authorities had not released more details about who had taken Breadson or how long he had been away from hom...

  The man convicted of fatally shooting rapper Nipsey Hussle was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday, Feb. 22.  Eric Holder was convicted of first-degree murder in July for the March 31, 2019, killing of Hussle in a parking lot outside the rapper’s South Los Angeles apparel shop. He was 33.  Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke handed down the sentence Wednesday after hearing from one of Hussle’s friends and listening to a letter from Holder’s father.  Holder's sentencing hearing had been postponed several times, including most recently Nov. 3. The sentencing has been delayed in part so defense attorney Aaron Jansen could argue to reduce Holder’s conviction to manslaughter or second-degree murder, which the judge rejected in December.  Holder was also found guilty of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter after two other people were injured in the shooting.  Hussle, who was born...

Roman Catholic church leader, Pope Francis has renewed his appeal for an end to the war in Ukraine, calling it “absurd and cruel,” during his general audience at the Vatican on Wednesday February 22. The Pope has frequently called for peace since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 last year.   The approaching one-year mark is "sad," Francis said on Wednesday, February 22, as he once again appealed for a cease-fire.   “Let us ask ourselves,” the Pope said, “has everything possible been done to stop the war?”  Francis said that the numbers of deaths and the toll of economic and social destruction caused by the war “speak for themselves.”   “Let us remain close to the martyred Ukrainian people,” he said. “Peace built on rubble will never be a real victory.”

A Spanish-language teacher has been stabbed to death in class by a 16-year-old French high student claiming to be “possessed” and hearing voices. The deadly attack took place today, Wednesday, Feb. 22, at a private Catholic school named after Saint Thomas Aquinas in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, a high-end beach resort town in southwestern France. The victim was a 54-year-old female teacher who was identified by French news outlets as Agnes Lassalle. A television reporter was among the dead in a shooting spree in Florida that killed three on Wednesday February 22, while covering one of the shootings, police said Keith Melvin Moses, 19, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a shooting Wednesday morning. Moses is expected to be charged in four other shootings that occurred later in the day, including the killing of the Spectrum News 13 journalist.   Police said Moses has a lengthy criminal history that includes gun charges, aggravated assault, aggravated battery and assault with a deadly weapon.   Russia carried out a test of an intercontinental ballistic missile that appears to have failed around the time US President Joe Biden was in Ukraine on Monday, February 20, according to a new report by CNN citing two US officials familiar with the matter.   Russia notified the United States in advance of the launch through deconfliction lines, a US official said. A suspect has reportedly tried to play Doctor Evil by threatening to blow up the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles.  Security officials told TMZ that the suspect called Hollywood PD on Sunday, February 19, threatening to blow the famous L.A. landmark to smithereens with pipe bombs unless he is paid $10,000.    However instead of calling Los Angeles authorities, he called police officers in Hollywood, Florida. Unclear if he realized he had the wrong number, the Florida police department called their L.A. counterparts to let them know what was going on.    LAPD checked it out and found no credible threat at all. There've been no arrests, but the case is under investigation.   The Hollywood sign is under 24/7 video surveillance, so it's always watched closely and there are additional safety measures in place if anyone tries to tamper with it.

  The Haryana State Narcotic Control Bureau arrested two Nigerian nationals on the charges of drug smuggling and recovered 94 gm of heroin and 10 gm of ICE drug (methamphetamine) from their possession, the police said on Monday, February 20, 2023.  The arrested accused have been identified as Stanley Okorie and Christopher, both currently residing in Delhi. Briefing journalists, Verinder Saini, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Haryana State Narcotic Control Bureau, said the accused were arrested from Delhi on Sunday and they will be produced before the court as the police will seek their remand for further questioning. He said the team had already arrested two persons, Deepak of Jhajjar district with 50.47 gm heroin and Amritpal of Kishangarh, Chandigarh, in this case. Accused Deepak and Amritpal were arrested on February 16 and 18, respectively, and during their interrogation they revealed that they had bought the drug from Stanley Okorie and Christopher.  ...
