The World Health Organisation has revealed that the cholera outbreak in the country in 2021 is the highest in recent times. According to the Organisation, Nigeria recorded over 100,000 suspected cases of cholera in 2021. Speaking at training on oral cholera vaccine request and campaign planning on Monday, WHO Country Representative in Nigeria, Walter Mulombo, said there is the need to improve coordination of cholera control efforts and ensure clean and safe water as well as improved hygienic practices to contain the disease. He said, “Nigeria has just recorded its biggest Cholera outbreak which commenced in 2021 with over 100,000 suspected cases reported.   “The need to address issues around WASH remains critical in the long term. British boxer, Dillian Whyte has asked for a rematch of the fight between himself and the World Heavyweight Champion, Tyson Fury. Whyte was knocked out by the undefeated Fury at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 in front of a record 94,000 people.  After bullying Whyte in the previous 5 rounds, Fury gave Whyte a left uppercut and then shoved him in the 6th round leaving Whyte dazed and unable to continue.      White now says Fury cheated and the match should be rearranged.    Speaking to Sky Sports he urged Fury to accept a rematch.   "He full-on pushed me and I fell over and hit my head on the canvas, which is illegal. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kwara state command, has arrested a 30-year-old man who allegedly defrauded Idris Abubakar, the Emir of Okuta in Kwara state, of N33,399,999.   In a statement released by its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC said the suspect, identified as Fidelis Poor, convinced the traditional ruler that he had a container of goods that will help in the development of the community.   According to EFCC, the suspect told the emir, a former member of representatives, that the container was awaiting clearance in Abuja, and asked the traditional ruler to pay some money to secure the release of the container.   “The Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC has arrested one Fidelis Poor, a member of a syndicate who allegedly connived to defraud a first class traditional ruler in Kwara State, His Royal Highness, Idris Sero Abubakar, to the tune of N33,399,999.
