Africa's soccer ruling body, The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has permitted the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to allow up to 60, 000 spectators for Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs second leg tie against the Black Stars of Ghana.   The match which will take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, March 29 and the NFF made the request after CAF initially approved 30, 000 fans for the highly anticipated encounter.   The request by the NFF came after CAF allowed 40,000 fans for the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi on Friday despite reports saying the stadium was over packed for the encounter which ended 0-0. The overall winners of the two legged tie will get an automatic spot in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

US President, Joe Biden has labeled the Russian President Vladimir Putin a "butcher". His remarks came while he visited refugees from war torn Ukraine in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday, March 26.   This comes a week after he called Putin a 'war criminal'.  During the visit, Biden was asked by reporters what were his thoughts after seeing the Ukrainian refugees at Poland while he has to deal with Putin every day. Biden responded: "He's a butcher." After initially looking to downplay a personal rivalry between himself and Putin.  During the brief question-and-answer session, Biden recounted how he had been to places like this in his life but said he is always surprised by "the depth and strength of the human spirit." A graduate had such an extreme allergic reaction to her lip fillers that her lips grew to “eight times” their normal size – leaving her looking like a cartoon character. Kailee Jones, 23, got the injections for the first time in November 2021 because she thought her lips looked too small compared to the rest of her facial features. The young woman had 1ml of lip filler placed across her upper and lower lips, but claims that within an hour of the treatment her lips began to “balloon”. Kailee believes that she had an allergic reaction to the lip filler and says applying ice to her mouth only made the swelling worse.   The technology consultant spent the next 48 hours unable to speak, drink or eat normally because of her sore “sausage lips”. And, her friends joked that she looked like the Monsters Inc character Fungus from the Disney Pixar Film. A security official of the Nigerian Airspace Management Authority NAMA has been killed after suspected terrorists attacked the Kaduna International Airport located in Igabi Local Government Area the Kaduna State on Saturday, March 26. The terrorists who were over 200 in number were said to have taken over the airport, preventing the takeoff of an aircraft. The attack, it was gathered forced the authority to temporarily shut down activities while the military battled the suspected terrorists.   An aircraft scheduled to take off for Lagos at 12:30pm was unable to fly as a result of the presence of the terrorists at the runway of the airport.   The state government nor the state police command is yet to comment on this development.

Taylor Hawkins, the longtime drummer for rock band Foo Fighters, has died at the age of 50, the band has announced. “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band’s official account tweeted. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. “Our hearts go out to his wife, children, and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.” No cause of death has been announced.   No further details about Hawkins’ death were provided, although local media outlets reported that Hawkins had been suffering from chest pain and an ambulance had been called.   At the time of his death, Foo Fighters were on tour in South America.
