Finland has been named the world's happiest country for the fifth year running, in an annual UN-sponsored index that Afghanistan as the unhappiest. The latest list was completed before Russian tyrant Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine. In the list, Denmark is ranked second happiest followed by Iceland, Switzerland and Netherlands.  Jan-Emmanuel De Neve, a co-author of the index, said: 'This presents a stark reminder of the material and immaterial damage that war does to its many victims.' The World Happiness Report, now in its 10th year, is based on people's own assessment of their happiness, as well as economic and social data. It assigns a happiness score on a scale of zero to 10, based on an average of data over a three-year period.  

  Ukrainian actress Oksana Shvets has been killed in a Russian rocket attack on a residential building in Kyiv. The Young Theater — a Ukrainian theater troupe she had been part of since 1980 — announced the star’s death. In a statement shared on its Facebook page, the company expressed its “irreparable grief” at Shvets’ passing. “Honored Artist of Ukraine Oksana Shvets was killed during a rocket attack on a residential building in Kyiv,” the troupe wrote alongside a picture of the stage and screen veteran. The tribute, translated from Ukrainian, continued: “Bright memory to the talented actress! There is no forgiveness for the enemy that has come to our land!”  English-language publication Kyiv Post also reported her death, saying on Twitter that she was “murdered in Kyiv during the war.”  

Chelsea striker, Antonio Rudiger is reportedly set to leave the London club after agreeing on a four-year contract with Juventus worth £5.4m a season.  The 29-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and the Blues cannot offer him an extension because of UK government sanctions placed on club owner Roman Abramovich. Prior to the sanction,  Rudiger had been rumoured to be considering a contract extension at the club where he has established himself as an exceptional talent since joining for £31million from Roma in 2017. According to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Germany international has said 'yes' to a move to Juventus.  The report also claims Rudiger 'will sign a four-year deal' with the Serie A giants as he prefers them over both Real Madrid and Bayern Munich and he will earn around £5.4m per season.  Blues boss Thomas Tuchel admitted last week he fears Abramovich's sale of club could have...

Unknown gunmen attacked the country home of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor, in Awo-Omamma, Oru LGA, Imo State, in the early hours of today March 19. At least two buildings sitting on the property were affected by the fire. Obiozor was not at home when his house was attacked by the assailants. The state police command is yet to comment on this incident. Watch the video of the burnt house below  

Two policemen have been killed after unknown gunmen attacked the Umuguma Divisional Police Headquarters in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State in the early hours of Saturday, March 19.     According to reports, the gunmen blocked the roads leading in and out of the station division, including the one close to the local government headquarters before launching an attack on the station by throwing Improvised electronic devices into the buildings.   After setting the station on fire, they waited to attack officers who ran out for safety. Two policemen simply identified as Ifeanyi and Iyke unfortunately ran into the rain of bullets.

The US government has effectively grounded nearly 100 planes with ties to Russia, including one owned by Chelsea billionaire owner, Roman Abramovich. As part of its sanctions on Russia and the wealthy elite surrounding President Vladimir Putin, the Biden administration has already banned Russian aircraft from its airspace. The US Commerce Department has said the planes are in contravention of US sanctions on Russia. Providing service to these aircraft anywhere in the world - including inside Russia - may lead to heavy fines and potential jail time, it says. The list includes aircraft operated by Russian airlines, including Aeroflot. While most are Boeing aircraft, a Gulfstream private jet owned by Mr. Abramovich,  the current owner of Chelsea football club is also included.   Former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano was reportedly arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for alleged misappropriation of public funds. Sources told Channels Television that Obiano was arrested for misappropriating N5bn Sure-P and N37 billion Security Vote funds, which was withdrawn in cash. Part of the funds were also allegedly diverted to finance political activities in the state, the source added. The former Governor who was reportedly on his way out of the country to Houston, Texas in the United States before being arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, has been moved from Lagos to an EFCC facility in Abuja. Prior to his arrest, he has been on the Commission’s watchlist for months.

The mother of one of Young Thug's children was shot and killed during a fight at a bowling alley.  31-year-old LaKevia Jackson was shot multiple times during a dispute over a bowling ball. The Atlanta Police Department responded to Metro Fun Center Thursday night, March 17, on a report a woman had been shot. When they arrived, they found LaKevia Jackson dead, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. A reporter who spoke to LaKevia Jackson's mom said the deceased was at the bowling alley to celebrate a friend's birthday and that the alleged shooter waited in the parking lot for about 20 minutes for her to leave.     Investigators say they only have one male suspect at this time, and according to Lt. Woolfolk, police know who he is.   "We will find the person who’s responsible. You know who you are. Go ahead and turn yourself in. We assure you that we will bring you into custody," Lt.
