An Islamic boarding school teacher is lucky to avoid death penalty or chemical castration as he was instead jailed for life for raping thirteen pupils and impregnating nine of them in Indonesia. The judge said that teacher Herry Wirawan had sexually groomed the 13 girls, who were between 12 and 16 years old, and impregnated at least nine of his victims, some of whom suffered injuries from the rapes. The case was concluded in court today with the man being sentenced. 'Wirawan was proven guilty...of the crimes of purposely committing violence, forcing intercourse on more than one victim repeatedly,' Judge Yohannes Purnomo Suryo Adi told the court in the city of Bandung in West Java.   Wirawan pleaded guilty and apologized to his victims and their families during the trial.   Emiliano Sala's mother has revealed that her son felt 'in some doubt' about leaving Nantes for Cardiff before his tragic death in a plane crash.  Argentinian striker Sala died in January 2019 after the private aircraft he was travelling in crashed into the English channel off the island of Alderney. The 28-year-old had just secured a transfer from Ligue 1 Club Nantes to Premier League side Cardiff City, and was travelling to Wales after returning to the west of France in order to collect belongings and bid farewell to his team-mates. At £15million, Sala was Cardiff’s record signing, with then-manager Neil Warnock willing to spend big on a player who had scored 48 goals in 133 appearances for Nantes. The Department of the State Services has been warned by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja, against taking over the security arrangement of the court on February 16 until 12 pm. Justice Nyako stated that the DSS can only take control of the court security arrangement when the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu resumes. The high court Judge who disclosed that the trial of other cases are affected during Kanu’s arraignment, postponed the IPOB leader's trial till 1pm on Wednesday, February 16 to ensure that other cases are accommodated.

American rapper and actor, Tyrese Gibson has announced the death of his mother, Priscilla Murray Gibson, after a battle with COVID-19 and pneumonia. The "Fast and Furious" actor shared a heartbreaking video of himself holding his mom's hand in her hospital bed as he tearfully said his goodbyes. American rapper, Kodak Black has been spotted leaving a hospital where he received medical treatment after being shot days ago.   Kodak Black was among four people shot early Saturday outside a restaurant in Los Angeles. Though it was not   immediately clear what sparked the fight outside the club, an LAPD spokesman said the victims were shot when they emerged from the building.   Bradford Cohen, an attorney for Kodak Black, told NBC News Monday the shooting starting with an “unprovoked attack” on an individual Kodak was with.   A  US politician vying for mayor has survived a assassination attempt inside his office. Craig Greenberg, a mayoral candidate for the state of Kentucky , running to be Louisville's next Democratic mayor, was shot on Monday morning, February 14, around 1000 local time (1500 GMT). Police have now apprehended the individual who shot Craig Greenberg and in a new tweet he said his team were safe . According to Louisville police, the gunhots hit Mr Greenberg's clothing but nobody was injured. Several  people including Greenberg, were seen being escorted unharmed out of the building by police. "We consider ourselves very fortunate today," said Louisville police chief Erika Shields at a Monday afternoon, Feb 14 news conference. David James, president of the local metro council, told local media the shooting was an attempt on Greenberg's life. The attack comes after Greenberg last month released a plan to address policing, crime and quality of life.

A voyeuristic Connecticut mom has pleaded guilty to secretly recording three people, including a child, in a sexual situation in her multi-million dollar Greenwich mansion. Hadley Palmer, a mother of four, pleaded guilty to three counts of voyeurism and risk of injury to a minor– all committed in 2017 – on Jan. 19 in state superior court. As part of the plea bargain, the two most serious charges levied against her were dropped – employing a minor in an obscene performance, which is a Class A felony, and possession of child pornography. The charges allege she filmed someone either naked or in their underwear with the "intent to arouse or satisfy the sexual desire of such person (defendant) or any other person." Palmer, 53, could face between 90 days and 60 months in prison.   A man who suffered horrific abuse at a Catholic boarding school in Scotland has secured a record £1.4million in compensation. The 54-year-old, known only as AB, was sexually assaulted by religious brothers John Farrell, Paul Kelly, and Gerard Ryan.  According to Mail Online, the incident occurred during a 14-month spell while he was boarding at St Ninian’s School in Falkland, a religious teaching order within the Catholic Church that was run by the Christian Brothers. AB was raped, molested, and beaten by all three teachers. They would also frequently play the song Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie during their attacks. The Christian Brothers tried to have the legal case against them thrown out at the All Scotland Sheriff Personal Injury Court.  But Sheriff Christopher Dickson dismissed the attempt and ordered them to pay damages of £1.39million.  It is believed to be the highest sum ever awarded to a survivor of abuse. A Catholic priest has resigned from an Arizona church after the Vatican ruled that thousands of his baptisms are invalid because he used the wrong words for 25 years    Father Andres Arango left his post at the St. Gregory Catholic Church in Phoenix this month after disclosing that he used an 'incorrect formula' that invalidated the baptisms. He has previously worked in churches in Brazil and San Diego.   Instead of saying 'I baptize you' which invokes the power of God, as required by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Arango said 'we baptize you' - which refers to the community.    According to the ruling, using the wrong phrasing invalidated all the baptisms Arango had performed since being ordained in 1995 through June 2021. The United States has asked Honduras to arrest and extradite former President Juan Orlando Hernandez, officials in the Central American country said on Tuesday February 15.   Earlier in the day, the Honduran Foreign Ministry said the US Embassy had requested the arrest of a Honduran politician. The ministry added the request had been sent to the Honduran Supreme Court.   While the ministry did not name the politician in question, officials speaking on condition of anonymity told the media the request was for Hernandez.   On Monday night, Honduran security forces surrounded Hernández’s neighborhood, and the Supreme Court of Justice scheduled an urgent meeting on Tuesday morning to select a judge to handle the extradition request.      The specific charges Hernández’s faces are not known, but federal prosecutors in New York had previously named him a co-conspirator in a drug trafficking case, alleging that his political rise was fuel...
