Wales will consider changing its name to Cymru on the international stage after the World Cup.   Cymru, the Welsh name for Wales is already being used by the Football Association of Wales in its internal and external communications and by staff at the governing body's headquarters in the Vale of Glamorgan.   The FAW is reportedly planing to ask various stakeholders in Welsh football about the merit of changing the country's name in international competition, while informal discussions have already been held with UEFA on the subject.   'The team should always be called Cymru, that's what we call it here,' said FAW chief executive Noel Mooney ahead of Wales' first World Cup since 1958.   'Our view at the moment is that domestically we're clearly called Cymru. Luiz ‘Lula’ da Silva, former Brazilian president, has defeated Jair Bolsonaro, the incumbent leader, in the country’s presidential elections. In the fiercely contested election, Lula as he is popularly known, raked in 50.9 percent of the votes compared to 49.1 percent for Bolsonaro, shifting Brazil’s political landscape from right wing to the left wing. Lula was announced the winner on Sunday, October 30. Simon Cowell has recalled his wild behaviour when he was a pre-teen.   The TV mogul, who has an 8-year-old son named Eric, revealed he was already smoking and drinking from the age of eight and was arrested for hijacking a bus at age 12.   Simon, 63, said he got up to a lot of mischief in his childhood due to having a "low boredom threshold" and not being academic.   "I was so bad when I was Eric’s age.   Singer and actor Lee Ji Han is confirmed to have died at the age of 24 in the stampede at a Halloween party. At least 151 people are said to have been killed in the incident on Saturday night, October 29, as they gathered to celebrate the festivities. It was rumoured that the stampede began when a huge crowd of young people – mostly aged in their teens and 20s – poured into a narrow Seoul street to "see a local celebrity".  Lee Ji Han, who was best known as a contestant on Produce 101 Season 2, had got caught up in the stampede and died.   In a statement translated by Soompi, Lee Ji Han's agency, 935 Entertainment, said: "It’s true that Lee Ji Han passed away due to the accident in Itaewon on October 29.     "We also hoped that it wasn’t true, and we were very shocked to hear the news.   The verified Instagram account of suspected Internet fraudster, Abbas Ramoni popularly known as Hushpuppi, has been deactivated by Meta, the parent company of the platform.   Hushpuppi, who is currently been tried in the United States of America on charges of impersonation, scam, identity theft, etc. was arrested in Dubai by agents of the Dubai Police and US Federal Bureau of Investigations in 2020.   Prior to his arrest, Hushpuppi showed off his flamboyant lifestyle via his page.   A quick search shows that the handle has been deactivated as it did not come up among the results seen.

FIFA have warned Tunisia that they are at risk of being expelled from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar if the country's government interferes in football matters.   The warning from the world governing body comes after several comments from Tunisia's Youth and Sports Minister, Kamel Deguiche about the possibility of 'dissolving federal bureaux', according to BBC Sport.   Member federations within FIFA are required to operate without any legal and political interference.   FIFA considers the statements of Deguiche as attempts to get involved in the running of the Tunisian football federation (FTF) and has asked the federation for clarity about attempts to interfere in its internal affairs, along with the warning about dissolving its office.   FIFA have also reminded the FTF that its member associations are 'legally obligated to conduct their affairs independently and without undue influence from third parties'.    'Any failure to comply w...

A Pennsylvania man is facing felony charges for allegedly beating, choking and burying his 6-year-old daughter in the yard because he thought she was lying, police said. The girl told investigators her dad, John Kraft, 50, often hit her with a belt and with his arm, which has a metal rod from a surgery, KDKA reported, citing a police report. She said he buried her in a hole in the yard and left her there overnight.   "The allegations are that this child was beaten brutally, that the child had bruises all over her body, that she was choked to the point that she had passed out," Greene County District Attorney David Russo said.   Social workers in September found severe bruising on the girl’s face and body.   Two weeks ago, police interviewed the child and a sibling, who told them Kraft allegedly buried the girl in a hole in the yard.     The girl said her dad would leave her in the yard "until she told the truth and that she would come ...

  A death row inmate,  Henry Hodges severed his penis in his prison cell and asked to be placed on suicide watch. Hodges, who was sentenced to death in 1992 for murdering a telephone repairman, began smearing feces in his cell because he was upset that officials wouldn’t let him have a special food package he ordered, his lawyer Kelley Henry said.  In addition to receiving the death penalty for murdering Bassett in 1990, Hodges was sentenced to 40 years in prison for robbing the repairman. Hodges was also found guilty of killing a North Carolina chemical engineer at a hotel in Atlanta after murdering Bassett.   Hodges was denied the food package because he had clear conduct for five months instead of the six required, Henry said.  According to the lawyer who visited him at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, a guard stopped feeding Hodges to curb him from continuing to smear feces but Hodges responded by slitting his wrists ...

Barely 48 hours after its embassy in Nigeria issued a security alert of a possible terrorist attack in Nigeria, especially Abuja, the United States government  (US) has authorized the evacuation of “non-emergency” employees and their family members in Nigeria.   The US state department announced the approval in an update on its Nigeria travel advisory on Tuesday evening, October 25.   The update noted that the US embassy in Abuja will have “limited ability” to provide emergency assistance to US citizens while the consulate in Lagos is still providing routine and emergency services.   “On October 25, 2022, the Department authorized the departure of non-emergency U.S. government employees and family members due to the heightened risk of terrorist attacks.   The teenager who killed two people at his St. Louis high school was pictured in a yearbook photo.   The picture of Orlando Harris, 19, was confirmed by police on Tuesday, October 25, a day after he carried out the deadly shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School.   The 19-year-old who gunned down a fellow student and gym teacher, wore a white hoodie and a black jacket in the photo that was widely shared on the internet before authorities confirmed it was Harris.   Details of a chilling note written by Harris where he called his life a "perfect storm for a mass shooter," has been released.   The note was left in Harris’ car before he stormed the high school with an AR-15-style rifle and more than 600 rounds of ammunition. Emmy winner, Ben Feigin has died at the age of 47.   Feigin, best known for his work as an executive producer of "Schitt’s Creek", died Monday, October 24.   A rep for the producer confirmed his death to The Post.   Feigin was instrumental in the success of "Schitt’s Creek" by finding non-traditional financing to sell the Canadian comedy, Deadline reported. He devised the show’s international Live Nation tour and its Netflix documentary, "Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: A Schitt’s Creek Farewell."   Feigin was also the mastermind behind the show’s pop-up immersive experience that sold out around the world in 2019.   His awards include an Emmy in 2020 and a Golden Globe and Producers Guild Award the following year.   Feigin is survived by his wife, talent agent Heidi Feigin, and their 11-year-old daughter, Ellie.

The United States is considering sending its outdated HAWK air defense equipment from storage to Ukraine to help it defend against Russian drone and cruise missile attacks, two U.S. officials have revealed.   The HAWK interceptor missiles are an  upgrade to the Stinger missile systems - a smaller, shorter range air defense system - that the United States has already sent to Ukraine. The Biden administration said on Tuesday, October 25 that it would use the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) to transfer the HAWK equipment which is based on Vietnam-era technology, but has been upgraded several times. The PDA allows the United States to transfer defense articles and services from stocks quickly without congressional approval in response to an emergency.  The HAWK system is the predecessor to PATRIOT missile defense system made by Raytheon Technologies (RTX.N) which remains off the table for Ukraine, U.S. officials say according to reports.   After a de...

Eleven children have died after a fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday October 25, at a school for visually impaired children in Uganda. Police say they are investigating the cause of the fire at the boarding school after it killed 11 girls, ages four to 13.     The fire at the Salama School for the Blind in Uganda's central Mukono district broke out shortly after midnight Monday, in a girl's dormitory that was occupied by 17 children. Kampala deputy police spokesman Luke Owoyesigire said police have deployed a forensics team that will carry out DNA tests before the bodies of the dead children are handed over to family members.  "The cause of the fire is currently unknown. But so far, eleven deaths as a result of the fire have been confirmed. An Iranian man nicknamed the "dirtiest man in the world" for not taking a bath for decades has died at the age of 94. Amou Haji, who did not shower for about 60 years and was single, died on Sunday, October 23,  in the village of Dejgah in the southern province of Fars, IRNA news agency reported on Tuesday, October 25. Haji had avoided showering over fears of "getting sick", the agency quoted a local official as saying. However, a few months ago, villagers, who were fed up, had taken him to a bathroom and forced him to shower. Mr Haji had an aversion to soap and water. He said he hated even the thought of bathing. Mr Haji previously said that he chose this way of life after experiencing emotional setbacks in his youth. Since then he became isolated. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command on October 25, 2022, secured the conviction of an internet fraudster, Ekechukwu Wilson Chinaza before Justice F.A. A 31-year-old football player identified as Ernest Peremobowei, has died while trying to rescue victims of a boat mishap in Bebelebiri community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.   The deceased popularly known as Tido, was a top scorer in the just concluded Prosperity Cup, a grassroot football tournament organized by the Government of Bayelsa State.   He died while returning home in a canoe shortly after taking his wife and two children, aged 3 years and 10 months old, to an IDP camp to escape the raging flood.      According to an eyewitness account, the canoe which was conveying him and six other persons from the Federal Medical Center waterfront capsized because it could not withstand the current of the raging flood.   Confirming the incident, Kenneth Dreams, the coach of Bebelebiri FC which he played for during the last edition of the competition, said that the popular footballer died in the process of rescuing other oc...
