Iranian media reported that women were once again denied entry to a football stadium to watch an international match, leaving hundreds of ticketed fans stranded. Iran won 2-0 against Lebanon in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night at the Imam Reza stadium in Mashhad, in the northeastern city. "About 2,000 Iranian women who had purchased tickets for the Iran-Lebanon match were present on the Imam Reza stadium's perimeter but were unable to enter the stadium," according to the ISNA news agency.   "A total of 12,500 tickets were sold for this match, with 2,000 reserved for women," it added. A 36-year-old man has been arrested and arraigned in a Kisumu court in Kenya, for attempting to rape his mother.  The incident occurred at Karao village, Kombewa division Seme Sub-county within Kisumu county. Caleb Okuom who is the area chief said he got the information through one of the village managers, Martin Omware. Okuom said Omware told him the suspect identified as Dan Otieno who arrived home drunk, had attacked his mother and tried raping her.    He said;    “The accused arrived home while drunk then he started assaulting his mother and attacking her with an intention of raping her”   The area chief added that immediately he was informed about this, he acted swiftly with the help of village elders, arrested Otieno and handed him over to Kombewa police station. Area OCPD Hellen Rotich told K24TV that the suspect was detained at Kombewa police station and arraigned in court on Wednesday March 30.

Super Eagles head coach, Austin Eguavoen has resigned following the failure of Nigeria to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after a 1-1 draw with Ghana at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. The Super Eagles were unable to defeat the Black Stars in Kumasi, with the match ending 0-0. In the reverse leg, both nations played 1 - 1 with Ghana qualifying on an away goal.  According to Brila FM, Eguavoen has sent an official resignation letter to the NFF. The Sports radio station said Eguavoen will now return to his role as Technical Director of all national teams. However, the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF is yet to release an official statement. The NFF had handed a two-year contract to Eguavoen two days before the first leg of the World Cup play-off against Ghana. It is now clear that the Super Eagles will soon have a new coach.

Former F1 boss Max Mosley shot himself after learning his cancer was terminal, a coroner has concluded. Mr. Mosley died in his London home in May 2021. The 81-year-old had been in debilitating pain.   Westminster Coroner's Court heard that he shared his plans, had a final meal with his wife, and wrote a suicide note.   Senior Coroner Dr. Fiona Wilcox recorded a conclusion of suicide, saying she was "satisfied" Mr. Mosley intended to kill himself.   Mr. Mosley developed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a cancer affecting immune cells, in 2019, the court heard on Tuesday.   Having exhausted all the treatment options, doctors had told him he likely had a "very limited life expectancy" and he had been moved to palliative care.   Mr. Mosley contacted his personal assistant the night before he was found dead to tell him about his decision to kill himself.   He could not be persuaded and had formed a "settled intent", the court heard, and a suicide no...

  Actor Paul Herman, who appeared in "The Sopranos" and "Goodfellas" has died on the day he turned 76. Herman died on his birthday, Tuesday, March 29th.   The cause of death has not been disclosed.   His death was confirmed by Michael Imperioli, a former Sopranos castmate.   Imperioli wrote: "A first class storyteller and raconteur and one hell of an actor … Paulie lived around the corner from me the last few years and i am glad we got to spend some time together before he left us.   "I’ll miss him. A Nigerian man, Isaiah Olugosi, 38, was on Monday, March 28 discovered dead in his cell at HMP Wormwood Scrubs in West London, where he was awaiting sentence after being convicted for fraud.  In May 2021, he pled guilty to masterminding a scam that defrauded over 100 shops in the UK in a two year reign of theft. Olugosi, his wife Holly, and members of his organised crime group exploited over 30 teenage victims and were charged with modern slavery laws. The victims aged between 14 and 17 were discovered by police when they unearthed the extent of the fraud in 2020.   While in court he revealed that girls were recruited via social media and approached on the street, with some living in foster homes while others had gone missing.   At Snaresbrook Crown Court, Olugosi admitted conspiracy to arrange or facilitate the travel of children for exploitation, two counts of conspiracy to defraud, money laundering and possession of articles for use in fraud. Nollywood actor, Williams Uchemba has said that Nigeria losing the World Cup slot might be a good thing.   The Confederation of African Football's Doping Officer for the game between Nigeria and Ghana, Dr Joseph Kabungo, has died after violence erupted when the match ended in 1-1 draw in Abuja. British-Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana confirmed the sad news stating that Dr Joseph Kabungo, a Zambian medical practitioner who was on duty as a doping officer, suddenly collapsed and died. American actor, Anthony Anderson's marriage has finally crashed.   According to court documents obtained by ET on Monday, Alvina Anderson, Anthony's wife of 22 years, filed for dissolution of marriage in Los Angeles County Courts, citing "irreconcilable differences" as a reason for the split.   The pair is still legally married and as there are no minor children shared between the two, no custody agreements need to be made.    Alvina had previously filed for divorce back in September 2015, requesting primary custody of their two children, Kyra, now 26, and Nathan, now 22, as well as spousal support. Operatives of the EFCC have arrested 75 suspected internet fraudsters in separate sting operations in Owerri, Imo State.     The Abuja Zonal Command arrested 46 suspects on Monday March 28, 2022, for alleged involvement in computer-related fraud at different locations in Owerri, the Imo State capital.     The suspects who are mainly students and job-seekers between the ages of 18 to 31 years were apprehended after superior intelligence was received on the nefarious activities of the young men. Taliban has instructed all government employees to wear a beard and adhere to a dress code or risk being fired. Representatives from the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice were patrolling the entrances to government offices on Monday March 28, to check that employees were in compliance with the new rules.   Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky has said his country is ready to accept neutral non-nuclear status as part of a peace deal with Russia. Speaking on Sunday, March 27 in an interview with Russian independent journalists, Zelensky said any agreement between Russia and Ukraine would have to be put to the Ukrainian people in a referendum, but that it is his desire to reach a concrete peace agreement.  His comments come as Russia's invasion of Ukraine surpasses one month and as Ukraine enters new negotiations with Russia in Turkey this Tuesday, March 29. Africa's soccer ruling body, The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has permitted the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to allow up to 60, 000 spectators for Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs second leg tie against the Black Stars of Ghana.   The match which will take place at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, March 29 and the NFF made the request after CAF initially approved 30, 000 fans for the highly anticipated encounter.   The request by the NFF came after CAF allowed 40,000 fans for the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi on Friday despite reports saying the stadium was over packed for the encounter which ended 0-0. The overall winners of the two legged tie will get an automatic spot in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

US President, Joe Biden has labeled the Russian President Vladimir Putin a "butcher". His remarks came while he visited refugees from war torn Ukraine in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday, March 26.   This comes a week after he called Putin a 'war criminal'.  During the visit, Biden was asked by reporters what were his thoughts after seeing the Ukrainian refugees at Poland while he has to deal with Putin every day. A graduate had such an extreme allergic reaction to her lip fillers that her lips grew to “eight times” their normal size – leaving her looking like a cartoon character. Kailee Jones, 23, got the injections for the first time in November 2021 because she thought her lips looked too small compared to the rest of her facial features. The young woman had 1ml of lip filler placed across her upper and lower lips, but claims that within an hour of the treatment her lips began to “balloon”.
