Two persons have lost their lives in a clash involving some hoodlums in Marina, in the Lagos Island Local Government Area of Lagos State. Punch Metro gathered that the clash, which threw residents and business owners into panic, started when some thugs attacked a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, identified only as Dare. The victim was said to be on his way home after attending a party when the assailants, who laid in ambush for him around 11pm, stabbed him and robbed him of his valuables. Dare, who was said to be popular on Luta Street in Lagos Island, died from the injuries he sustained during the attack. A resident, Adedeji Akinwande, said the victim mentioned the names of some of the hoodlums who attacked him before he died. The United States, the United Kingdom and 14 other countries have asked the Government and rebel factions in Ethiopia to immediately cease hostilities and allow for the delivery of life-saving food, medicine and clothing to the people impacted by the conflict in the Tigray region.  The development comes days after rebel forces surrounded the country’s capital preparing for an onslaught forcing Ethiopian citizens, foreigners and diplomats to flee Addis Ababa.  The countries namely Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden made the demand following a joint investigation by the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) into allegations of human rights violations and abuses said to have been committed by both parties in the conflict. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the collation of results for the Anambra State governorship election and also suspended the declaration of the result of the election. INEC’s Chief Returning Officer for the election, Professor Florence Obi, announced this early on Monday, November 8, at the commission’s head office in Awka.   People had waited until about 12:15am on Nov. 8 for the declaration of a winner but things took a turn as Professor Obi made the announcement.   Professor Florence Obi, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calabar in Cross River State, said: "We have collated results from 20 out of 21 local government areas."   Rather than declaring the winner of the election after announcing the total votes scored by the participating parties, Professor Obi said a declaration would only be made after a supplementary election was conducted in Ihiala local government, which is the only local govern...
