Helen Paul has disclosed to her followers that she was involved in a car accident in Abuja a while back. The actress explained that she suffered a concussion as a result and had to wear dark sunglasses. She said some people interpreted it as pride on her part because she refused to remove the sunglasses when taking photos with them. She went on to tell her followers that things aren't always as they seem and many people are hiding a lot.  

A Franciscan nun from Colombia who was abducted in 2017 by fighters in Mali has been freed. Sister Gloria Cecilia Narvaez was released on Saturday October 9, after more than four years in captivity. She was taken hostage on February 7, 2017, by the Macina Liberation Front, an al-Qaeda-linked group in southern Mali near the border with Burkina Faso where she had been working as a missionary. Following her release, Narvaez met with Mali’s interim President Assimi Goita.   “I first thank God, who is the light and the peace, I thank the Malian authorities, the president for all the efforts made so that I am free,” she said in a brief statement made on state television.   “I am very happy, I stayed healthy for five years, thank God,” she added.   “The presidency of Mali salutes the courage and bravery of the nun. Nigeria returned to winning ways at the Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, with a convincing 2-0 victory over the Central African Republic on Sunday, October 10. First-half goals from Leon Balogun and Victor Osimhen helped the Super Eagles defeat the same opponents who won them four days ago in Lagos.   Balogun latched on to a cross to beat the CAR goalkeeper at his near post before Osimhen got the second goal just before the half-time break. Victory in Douala on Sunday saw Gernot Rohr’s men take a massive step towards qualification for the knockout and final phase of qualification for Qatar 2022 World Cup    The Super Eagles now lead the group with nine points from four games.

Boxer Adrien Broner was on Sunday October 10, arrested by cops in Kentucky over an outstanding warrant from Ohio. The 32-year-old was hauled into Kenton County Jail by police at around 1am and spent the night in a cell after officers obtained a warrant for his arrest as a fugitive from another state. Though it is unclear what led to his arrest, it is however said to originate from Cuyahoga County and speculated to be related to a lawsuit he lost in that jurisdiction about a year ago, when a woman claimed he assaulted her in a nightclub. That case has been ongoing for quite some time and Broner was even tossed into jail late last year after the judge found him to be in contempt for failing to pay an $800k judgment and comply with the rest of his requirements. American actor, Granville Adams has died at the age of 58. The actor, best known for his role as Zahir Arif in HBO's  Oz , lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, October 10, Variety reports.   The actor died with his wife by his side, an Instagram post shared by his family on his account said.   "Today our beloved Granville Adams has passed and is now with God. After a long hard-fought battle with Cancer, Granny has ascended to the heavens. Gran spent his last days surrounded by his loved ones, family, and close friends. His wife Christina was by his side the entire time and was alone with him when he passed. Granny is now in peace and not suffering anymore. He fought till the end with a strength, beauty and grace like no other, putting his family before himself til the final moments.
