  Atletico Madrid striker, Luis Suarez, pressed his hands together in a gesture asking for forgiveness after scoring against Barcelona in a LaLiga fixture on Saturday. It was Suarez’s first goal against his former employers since he left in the summer of 2020. The Uruguayan found the back of the net in the first half to put Atletico 2-0 up.   But Suarez remained respectful, refusing to celebrate even as his new teammates mobbed him in jubilation. Saturday’s match was the second time Suarez played against Barcelona since he was forced out by manager Ronald Koeman. A positive Covid-19 test robbed him of the chance to play against the Catalans in the first league fixture of last season, while he drew a blank in May’s 0-0 draw.  This time, though, he was on target, picking up on a sumptuous pass from Thomas Lemar  who had opened the scoring at the Wanda Metropolitano and firing home to double Atleti’s lead.  

Manchester United fans have called for the sack of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer after the coach didn't play Cristiano Ronaldo for the visit of Everton at Old Trafford in a match that ended 1-1. Despite Ronaldo's return of five goals in five games since his emotional homecoming to United, Ole decided to bench his star player on Saturday, October 2, stating that he was trying to protect him from getting injured.   After hearing Solskjaer's team selection, former footballer, Rio Ferdinand said in the BT Sport studio: 'You rest Ronaldo at times, he’d expect it at 36. National team games after this… he’s bringing in [Edinson] Cavani, someone’s who got goals last season and who’s a leader. More surprising is that [Jesse] Lingard deserves a start.' Men of the Delta State Police Command have arrested an armed robbery suspect with 340 rounds of AK47 live ammunition hidden in a bag of garri. Disclosing this to newsmen, the spokesman of the State Police command, Bright Edafe, said the suspect, Solomon Ebe, was arrested by policemen attached to Bomadi Divisional patrol team during a stop and search along Bomadi/Tuomo road.   “On the 01/10/2021 at about 07:30 hrs Policemen attached to Bomadi Divisional patrol team while on stop and search duty along Bomadi/Tuomo road intercepted a cyclist carrying one Solomon Ebe ‘m’ age 37yrs of Tuomo Community Burutu LGA Delta State carrying bag containing Garri. The Operative who were discreet in their responsibilities on reasonable suspicion decided to search the suspect and the bag.
