A plane carrying the German football team declared a midair emergency over Scotland this morning and was forced to land at Edinburgh airport. The team were heading back to Frankfurt following their 4-0 win over Iceland in Reykjavik on Wednesday night September 8.  According to reports, the aircraft got into difficulty at 29,000ft about three miles west of Arbroath on the east coast and turned sharply west. It took 20 minutes to then land in the Scottish capital. However, the official twitter account for the national team confirmed that “as a precaution there has been a safe stopover in Edinburgh.” They have since added that “we are fine. Safety check on the machine is now running”.     It is unclear what the issue was with Klasjet flight KLJ2703 with radar images showing an emergency change of direction, making an abrupt turn between Dundee and Arbroath before rapidly descending. WWE's Triple H is said to be recovering after undergoing a surgery following a cardiac event last week.  WWE issued a statement on Wednesday September 8, announcing that Triple H underwent a procedure last week following a cardiac event that was caused by a genetic heart issue. He’s expected to make a full recovery.   The statement read;    “Paul Levesque, a.k.a. Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week at Yale New Haven Hospital following a cardiac event. “The episode was caused by a genetic heart issue and Paul is expected to make a full recovery.”   52-year-old Triple H currently serves as the WWE executive vice president of global talent strategy and development. Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has apologised to the people of Afghanistan after fleeing to take refuge in the United Arab Emirates as the Taliban advanced last month. Ghani abruptly left Afghanistan as Taliban militants advanced on the capital on 15 August. Reports say he fled to UAE wwith about $169m (£123m) but he has denied those allegations. "Leaving Kabul was the most difficult decision of my life," Ghani said on his social media handle. "I'm sorry I could not make it end differently". He said he had not intended to abandon his people but "it was the only way". Ghani said he had no choice but to leave the country in order to avoid widespread violence.  "I left at the urging of the palace security, who advised me that to stay risked setting off the same street-to-street fighting the city had suffered during the civil war of the 1990s," he wrote, adding that he did so to "save Kabul and her six million citizens...

Residents of Imo state stayed back at their homes today, September 9, even as President Muhammadu Buhari’s arrived the South Eastern state. This comes after the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) directed all residents of the state to sit at home as a form of protest that the Nigerian leader is not ''welcome ''to the state in solidarity with their leader Nnamdi Kanu, who is still under the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS). As early as 8 am up to 11 am the streets of Owerri, Imo's capital was reportedly empty. Actor and TV personality, Nick Cannon has revealed that he is open to having more kids if God permits it.  The 40-year-old TV host who seems to be happy about reproducing, has already welcomed three children in quick succession this year with two different women. TMZ's photographer who met Nick and Jim Jones in Harlem, had asked if he's going to stop having kids now that he's had 7, including his son Zen and twins Zion and Zillion earlier this year.  Responding to the question, Nick said he's got no problem welcoming more kids into the world, as long as it's part of God's plan.   Detectives attached to the Meiran Police Division, Lagos State, have arrested three male suspects who conspired together and gruesomely murdered an UBER driver, Morenikeji Stephen Oluwaniyi, aged 27, and made away with his Toyota Corolla saloon car. The suspects, Rilwan Nasiru, aged 27; Sodiq Taiwo, aged 23 and Oladimeji, aged 20 booked UBER service online, lured the driver to Meiran area and strangled him to death. The suspects, after the dastardly act, dumped his body on the Abule Egba bridge, along the Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway and made away with his Toyota Corolla Saloon car with Reg.   The Director-General of the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Senator Basheer Mohammed has been sacked after four months in office. His abrupt sack was contained in a statement on Wednesday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. He has been replaced by Hajia Fatima Waziri-Azi. Garba explained that the sack of the four months old NAPTIP DG followed the recommendation of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq. The statement said the minister expressed the “urgent need for the Ministry to intensify efforts on the existing capacity in the NAPTIP to achieve its Key Result Areas as identified.” He quoted Hajiya Sadiya as saying that the recommendation of Fatima Waziri-Azi was based on her “pedigree, vast experience and proven track record to drive the agency forward and consolidate on what has been achieved so far.”  T...

A football fan was handed a suspended jail term in Britain on Wednesday for posting racist comments on social media blaming three black players for England’s Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy. Scott McCluskey, 43, from Runcorn, northwest England, singled out Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Jadon Sancho in an abusive Facebook message after they missed their penalties in a shootout. He admitted a single charge at Warrington Magistrates Court of sending an offensive or abusive message by a public communication network, and said he was “deeply ashamed” of his actions. He was handed a 14-week jail sentence, suspended for 18 months and ordered to 30 days of rehabilitation work on racism and diversity overseen by the Probation Service. The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned the duo of Michael Yusuf Michael and Martha Daniel Yusuf, both siblings, before Justice Hannnatu A.L Balogun on an eight count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence. The defendants allegedly floated an unregistered medical and empowerment Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) through which they solicited for donations from members of the public on social media, ostensibly to assist persons suffering from cancer but diverted the proceeds to their personal use. Investigation reveals that Michael who poses as the founder/CEO of the NGO, opened a Facebook page with profile name: MYM123 Care, with contact phone No: 080133715151, email address: comedianmym76@gmail.com .
