All six people on board a sightseeing plane were killed Thursday, August 5, when the aircraft crashed in southeast Alaska, the United States coast guard said. The plane’s emergency alert beacon was activated around 11:20 a.m. (1920 GMT) when the plane crashed in the area of Misty Fjords National Monument, near Ketchikan, the Coast Guard and Federal Aviation Administration said. A helicopter company reported seeing wreckage on a ridgeline in the search area, and Coast Guard crew members found the wreckage around 2:40 p.m. A Coast Guard helicopter lowered two rescue swimmers to the site, and they reported no survivors, the agency said. A young Brazilian beauty queen has died after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor in her abdomen. Vanessa Soares, 21, passed away Wednesday morning, August 4, during her emergency surgery at Roraima General Hospital in Boa Vista, Roraima. Before her death, Soares won Miss Rorainópolis in 2016 and 2020. She also won the Miss Teen Roraima pageant in 2018.    A cousin of Soares, according to  Brazilian news outlet G1, said that the three-time beauty pageant winner was at her home when she felt pain in her abdominal area Tuesday night and visited the Cosme Silva Emergency Room. Former South Africa President, Jacob Zuma, jailed for contempt of court last month, was hospitalized on Friday, August 6, less than a week before he is due in court for a separate graft trial. The Department of Correctional Services "can confirm that former president Jacob Zuma has today, 6 August 2021, been admitted to an outside hospital for medical observation," it said in a statement. Zuma, 79, is scheduled to attend the resumption of a long-running corruption trial on Aug. 10. Billionaire Microsoft founder, Bill Gates has revealed he regrets his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the wealthy financial manager who was accused of child sex trafficking, before he committed suicide in 2019. Speaking with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Gates said he only met with Epstein in the hopes of raising more money to deal with global health issues.   A 35-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested for illegal possession of drugs worth Rs 94,000 (N522,563.26) in Anjuna, Goa.  The accused identified as Chizoba Boniface Okeke was caught red handed when he came to deliver drugs to his prospective customers on Thursday, August 5.  The Anjuna police team led by LPSI Sneha Sawal, Head constable Shyamsundar Parekar along with police constable Sudesh Kerkar, Raj Parab, Rajesh Gokharnkar, Godhish Goltekar conducted a raid between 00.45 am to 3.40 am near a bar at Assagao and caught the Nigerian who had come to deliver psychotropic drug Ecstasy worth Rs 13,000 and amphetamine worth Rs 81,000 all worth Rs 94,000.
