Charlie Robinson, a prolific actor who played the clerk in the 1980s and ’90s sitcom “Night Court,” has died at the age of 75.  The American actor died on Sunday of cancer complications at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.  His manager, Lisa DiSante, told Deadline that Robinson died of cardiac arrest with multisystem organ failures due to septic shock, and metastatic adenocarcinoma. Robinson racked up more than 125 TV and film credits including an impressive five series-regular roles during a half-century career that stretched into 2021.   Nigeria’s national men’s basketball team, D’Tigers, smashed Argentina 94-71 on Monday evening, July 12, just one day after beating the USA basketball team. In the early hours of Sunday, July 11, 2021, D’Tigers beat the USA in an exhibition game ahead of the Tokyo Olympic Games. Bill Gates blamed himself for "messing up" as he opened up about his messy divorce. The billionaire spoke last week at the exclusive Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference, widely known as "summer camp for billionaires", in Sun Valley, Idaho.  One attendee at the camp said the Microsoft founder was "emotional" and on the verge of tears as he spoke about his divorce. Roman Abramovich has reportedly handed Chelsea the funds to go and get Borussia Dortmund star striker Erling Haaland this summer for £150million.  The 20-year-old Norwegian, who scored 41 goals in 41 matches last season for the German side, would follow England international Jadon Sancho, who is joining Manchester United for £73million. Rapper Londre Sylvester Dies After Being Shot 64 Times In Chicago A Chicago rapper died after suffering as many as 64 bullet wounds to his head and other parts of his body in what police are calling an ambush shooting just as he was released from jail. Londre Sylvester, 31, who is known by his stage name KTS Dre, was one of three people who were shot just outside Cook County Jail in the Little Village section of Chicago on Saturday according to a report by Daily Mail. The shooting took place as Sylvester was released from jail while wearing a monitoring device on his ankle. Witnesses reported that two armed men stepped outside a vehicle and started shooting Sylvester, striking him in the face and chest. Investigators found at least 59 shell casings on the 2700 block of West 27th Street, which is across the street from the jail. Sylvester was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 9:30pm on Saturday. His next of kin was notified on Sunday....

England and Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford has issued out a lengthy statement to the fans on social media following the Three Lions' defeat to Italy in the Euro 2020 final. Nigerian Superstar, Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ has debuted at Number 82 spot on this week’s Billboard 100. ‘Essence’ which is the fourth song from his album ‘Made in Lagos’ has become a fan favorite and summer hit song for celebrities in America and other parts of the world. This feat earns Tems her first career entry on the chart. Billboard in a tweet wrote: “ Wizkid’s “Essence,” featuring @temsbaby, debuts at Number 82 on this week’s #Hot100. Justice Nicholas Oweibo of a Federal High Court in Lagos on July 12 adjourned till October 5 (85 days) to continue the alleged internet fraud trial of Afeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley. Naira Marley is standing trial on an 11-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering and internet fraud preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was arraigned on May 20, 2019, pleaded not guilty and is out on bail.  In the charge, the EFCC alleged, among others, that some of the credit cards discovered in Marley’s residence bore the fictitious names Nicole Louise Malyon and Timea Fedorne Tatar. The antigraft agency alleges the items were used in furtherance of internet scams. The commission said the offences contravened the Money Laundering (Prohibition) and the Cyber Crimes Acts. The Mumbai police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) has arrested two persons, one of them a Nigerian national, for alleged possession of mephedrone worth Rs 37.5 lakh (N20,678,162.13) in Navi Mumbai, an official said on Saturday, July 10.  Acting on a tip-off, the Ghatkopar unit of the ANC laid a trap near Agarwadi bus stop on Sion-Panvel Highway in Govandi on Friday evening, and nabbed Francis Augustin D'Souza, 29, with 45 gm of mephedrone. Based on the information provided by the arrested accused, the ANC team set another trap near Juinagar railway station and caught Nigerian national Richard Tony, 39, a resident of Mira Road, and recovered 205 gm of mephedrone. During interrogation, it came to light that the duo was involved in smuggling, transportation and distribution of the drug, an official said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
