  Singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan, has died. A statement released by his family says he died on July 11 after a long battle with throat cancer. The singer is survived by his wife and three children. See the press statement from his family below  

Grammy award-winning Burna Boy on Saturday said that upcoming American rapper’ Bia has been in his Direct Messages on social media since 2018. This is coming days after the rapper, Bia claimed she didn’t know what he and other top Nigerian artistes; Davido and Wizkid look like. Burna Boy tweeted in Pidgin English, “That babe wey nor know our face don dey my dms since 2018 o.  .” The American made the statement on Friday while she was live on Instagram with popular rapper, Nicki Minaj, to promote their new song. When asked to chose which of the three artistes she would like to have a relationship with, she said, “I don’t know what they all look like.” Following the outrage that greeted her statement, the ‘Whole Lotta Money’ rapper took to Twitter to apologise, and clarify what she really meant by her statement. “I said I don’t know what they all look like doesn’t mean I don’t know their music. The U.S. men’s basketball team lost to Nigeria 90-87 on Saturday night, July10, in its first pre-Olympic exhibition game. Nigeria who had six NBA players and former NBA head coach Mike Brown at the helm, beat USA, inflicting the country's first ever loss to an African Nation. The landmark victory came nine years after the U.S. embarrassed Nigeria 156-73 at the London Olympics, the U.S.’ biggest win in Olympic men’s basketball history.   That Nigerian team included just one NBA player (Al-Farouq Aminu). Lionel Messi’s wait for an international trophy is finally over after Argentina defeated Brazil 1 - 0 at the  Maracanã  in Rio de Janeiro to win the 2021 Copa América on Sunday morning, July 11. Angel Di Maria scored the only goal of the game with a fine lob in the first half after several chances. The PSG star received a long pass from the impressive Rodrigo De Paul, which he converted.     The win also ended Argentina’s 28-year wait for a major trophy, and Brazil’s unbeaten home record that stretched back more than 2,500 days.
