A suspected internet frauster who allegedly tried to buy a Range Rover worth N44million with Bitcoin, has been arrested by the EFCC.  The suspect identified as Tobiloba Aramide Ogundiyan is accused by the EFCC’s Advance Fee Fraud Section of committing online fraud and converting his loot into cryptocurrency.   A statement released by the agency read;    Ogundiyan acquired his ill-gotten wealth from internet fraud, layered it into a Bitcoin account and finally integrated it by approaching a car shop owner in Lekki to purchase a Range Rover Vela P380 2018 model worth N44,000,000 ($97,626 USD in Bitcoin) sometime in March 2021.    The anti-graft agency said the suspect and seven others were arrested by the commission’s Lagos operatives on May 18, 2021 at River View Estate, Lekki, Lagos for alleged computer-related fraud.   Other suspects are Samson Alabi Afolabi; Adebayo Dolapo Olumide; Daniel Boluwatife Akinwun...

Andrea Pirlo has been fired as manager of Juventus on Friday,Juventus made the announcement in a statement via their Twitter handle on Friday morning. Pirlo took charge of Juventus last year, replacing Maurizio Sarri. Juventus are now expected to appoint a new manager ahead of next season. Meanwhile, Massimiliano Allegri has been linked with a return to the Serie A giants. Juventus finished in the fourth position on the Serie A table this season.

  On Thursday night, May 27, riot police in Portugal had to separate and disperse Manchester City and Manchester United fans who were fighting ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League final clash against Chelsea this weekend . Two people were reportedly injured after clashes near Porto’s Sao Bento railway station and in the city’s popular riverside quarter known as the Ribeira.   This is the second straight night of clashes between football fans in the country ahead of the final.   Portuguese Police confirmed a man had been taken to Santo Antonio Hospital following an incident near the station around 10pm local time last night/on Thursday night, May 27. A Pretoria high court on Thursday May 27, sentenced a convicted serial rapist who raped and robbed 56 women across Pretoria suburbs for five years, to 1,088 years in prison.  33-year-old Sello Abram Mapunya was convicted on Wednesday May 26, for 41 rapes and 40 separate house breakings and house robberies, as well as assault with the intent to commit grievous bodily harm, robbery and theft. Mapunya who committed the crime while he lived with his girlfriend, eight-year-old son and four-year-old daughter in Pretoria, attacked women in Tshwane’s suburbs of Nellmapius, Mamelodi, Silverton, Olievenhoutbosch and Atteridgeville. His youngest victim was 14. She was attacked while walking home with a friend in Olievenhoutbosch. His eldest victim was 55. Mapunya who was initially charged with 101 different crimes began his crime spree in 2014 and it ended in March 2019 after he was arrested by detectives from the serial electronic crimes investigation...

Usher is about to welcome his fourth child. The singer's girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea announced on Instagram that they are expecting another child. She shared photos of Usher cradling her baby bump during Thursday's red carpet for the iHeartRadio Music Awards hosted by Usher. "Another one," she captioned the photos.     This will be Usher's second child with Jennifer. They welcomed a baby girl, Sovereign Bo, last September and she's 8 months old. Usher is also dad to sons Usher V, 13, and Naviyd Ely, 12, by his ex wife, Tameka Foster.

The Zamfara state government has said that repentant bandits have surrendered 203 sophisticated firearm, under the state government peace accord. The state Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, Garba Dauran, made this known to newsmen in Gusau on Thursday, May 27. According to Dauran, 2,566 live ammunition, 64 magazines, two handcuffs and 887 locally fabricated Dane guns have been surrendered by the bandits since the government peace accord started on February 7. The Zamfara Government in an attempt to stop bandit attacks in the state launched the peace accord to give room for those bandits who have turned a new leaf to surrender their arms and embrace peace.

The thief struck as the on-loan Manchester United midfielder, 28, played in the Premier League defeat to Everton on May 9. His cureent club West Ham say they have no idea how a thief sneaked into the heavily-guarded dressing room during a game and despite all efforts by players and staff to search the room on May 9, the watch wasn't found.Lingard has a collection of expensive watches and the one stolen is specially designed by Swiss maker Richard Mille. Rooms at the West Ham's Stadium are only accessible to players and senior officials and are constantly monitored by CCTV and also patrolled by security, so the case is a mystery to police. Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu has disclosed that 41 of its offices have been attacked in 14 states since 2019. Mahmood disclosed this at the emergency meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday May 27.  He said preliminary assessment indicates that 1,105 ballot boxes, 694 voting cubicles, 429 electric generating sets and 13 utility vehicles (Toyota Hilux) were lost in the attacks. The electoral commission boss said;    “In the last two years, the Commission has recorded a total of 41 incidents involving deliberate attacks on the Commission’s facilities. “Nine of these incidents happened in 2019 and 21 cases in 2020. The World Bank has approved a $700 million loan for the Nigeria Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (SURWASH). In a statement released Thursday, May 27, the World Bank said the loan will provide six million people with basic drinking water services and 1.4 million people access to improved sanitation services. According to a press statement, the approval was granted on May 25, and the credit facility will also help deliver improved Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services to 2,000 schools and health care facilities, and assist 500 communities to achieve open defecation-free status. The projects are part of the Federal Government’s National Action Plan (NAP) for the revitalisation of Nigeria’s water supply, sanitation, and hygiene sector.   Private and missionary schools have shut down in Imo State as a result of the sit-at-home ordered by the Indigenous People of Biafra on Monday, May 31, 2021, throughout the South-East region. Residents of Owerri also resorted to panic buying on Thursday in order to prepare for the possible fallout of the order. While some schools were shut down till Tuesday next week, others gave their pupils one week rest at home. The schools asked the students to stay at home for the period to avoid any casualty. French President, Emmanuel Macron has publicly acknowledged France's role in the 1994 genocide of Rwandans but stopped short of apologizing. In a statement  on Thursday, May 27,  following a visit to the Gisozi memorial in the Rwandan capital Kigali, Macron acknowledged France's "overwhelming responsibility" in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda and said only the survivors could give "the gift of forgiveness."   "France did not understand that, while trying to prevent a regional conflict, or a civil war, it was in fact standing by the side of a genocidal regime,"  Macron's admission is strongest public admission of responsibility from a French leader till date. A woman is reportedly fighting for her life after she was beaten, gang raped and left hanging naked from an electricity pole in India. The victim was left for dead after she was reportedly ambushed by a group of men as she went to an open toilet during a wedding celebration at her home. She was later found hanging from the pole in the village of Chakhabib Rudhiya in the northern state of Bihar on Tuesday, May 25. Villagers rushed her to hospital after she was discovered unconscious and in a critical state. It has been reported that the woman was targeted after she used an open toilet. Acccording to India Today, she was allegedly dragged away by the men who took her to a deserted area where she was raped and beaten.   Social media giants, Facebook have said it will no longer remove from its platforms claims that coronavirus was man-made.   The announcement comes shortly after US President Joe Biden announced he had directed the US intelligence community to restart an investigation into the origin of Covid-19. Biden announced Wednesday, May 26, he had given the US officials 90 days to investigate the virus' origins. The announcement came after a US intelligence report found several researchers at China's Wuhan Institute of Virology fell ill in November 2019 and had to be hospitalized, a new detail that was not revealed before. The Trump administration had touted claims that Coronavirus was man made i.e created in a Chinese lab, but China vigorously denied that assertion with the World Health Organization (WHO) also touting China's stance that the virus originated from animals.
