The Lagos state police command's operatives attached to the Strike Team of the Command, have arrested eleven(11) suspected cultists and traffic robbers known for attacking and dispossessing innocent people of their belongings at Railway Crossing, Ikeja Along, Ikeja-Lagos.   A statement released by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, states that the operatives who responded to a distress call from one of the victims (name withheld), raced to the area and arrested some of the suspects in action while others were arrested at their hideouts around Ikeja Along. Adejobi said the suspects have confessed to the crime. Bill Gates, one of the world’s richest men has been removed from Bloomberg's billionaire list after news of his divorce from Melinda Gates.    The business platform took the action shortly after news of Gates divorce to his wife of 27 years went viral.   Before being taken off the list, Gates was fourth on the index with a net worth of $145 billion, having gained over $13 billion in 2021 alone.     Financial details of their parting ways are not yet clear but Melinda may take half of her estrange husband’s wealth.     An unmarried Gates became the youngest American Billionaire in 1987, a record he held until Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook founder came to the billionaire status in 2007. He got married to  Melinda in 1994, after already being named the richest man in America. They have three children together.

The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Kehinde Moses, with a bag allegedly containing a freshly severed human head and hands.    The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Bagega, who disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin on Monday, May 3, said that the suspect was arrested along Ajase-Ipo road during stop and search by a team of ‘Operation Harmony’   According to the CP, the team was in the process of searching a bag in a commercial bus when one man took to his heels while Moses held.   The bag was searched and a freshly severed head and hands of a young man were discovered.   During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have killed the victim, named Mohammed, in Ajase Ipo with his fleeing partner for ritual purposes.   The police boss said he has directed the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to thoroughly investigate the case and arrest anybod...

A top lung surgeon who came out of retirement to fight the pandemic has set himself on fire after feeling guilty for giving Covid to his entire family, according to reports.   Russian Dr Nikolai Shinkarenko, 70, felt "guilty" about having made his relatives sick with the virus, heartbroken friends and colleagues said.   The veteran surgeon, with 42 years medical experience, had called on doctors to return to the frontline to tackle the coronavirus crisis.   "He could not sit at home knowing that he could help hundreds of people in need,” said Andrei Kalmykov, chief doctor of Mikhailovsk Central District Hospital in Volgograd.   "It’s true, his wife was against him going back to work.   "But she understood him too, because she is a doctor herself."   As he helped Covid-19 patients, he got infected and had to be admitted to his own hospital.   "He was immediately hospitalised in his own department," said Dr Kalmykov.   "...

Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in a joint operation with members of the local vigilante group have apprehended a gang of kidnappers terrorizing commuters along Idah-Ajegu road in Kogi State. It was gathered that the patrol security team ran into the kidnappers while they were terrorizing commuters on the road on Saturday, May 1. The security operatives overpowered the kidnappers, killing two. They also arrested two others and freed two victims. A British mother of one has died after undergoing bum augmentation surgery at a backstreet clinic in Brazil. Ronilza Johnson, 46, who reportedly is a resident in the UK, passed away in hospital in the Brazilian municipality of Anapolis on the night of 1st May. She was hospitalised on 31st March after suffering complications following a botched buttock augmentation at a clandestine clinic in the same municipality a week before.     The surgeon who carried out the procedure has been named as Lucas Santana, and police have said he's liable for bodily injury, unauthorised practice of medicine and fraudulent misrepresentation. According to investigators, the biomedical scientist introduced himself to Ronilza as a doctor and told her that he would carry out the operation with the assistance of a medical student. The couple said that the decision came after a "great deal of thought and work." They said they no longer believe they can grow together as a couple in this "next phase" of their lives.     Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates, met Melinda French after she started working at Microsoft in 1987.
