  American singer, Travis Barker has taken his love for Kourtney Kardashian to another level.  On Thursday, April 8,  the Blink-182 drummer debuted his ink tribute to the reality star while shooting an undisclosed project in Hollywood. While Travis was shirtless, Kourtney’s name could be seen tattooed above his left nipple while rocking a black backwards cap and a pair of fitted black trousers for his video shoot.   Kourtney and Travis went public in February 2021, after they spent Valentine’s Day together. Since then, the pair have been inseparable. Kourtney Kardashian has three children – Mason, 11, Penelope, eight, and six-year-old Reign – with former partner Scott Disick.  While Travis was married to Melissa Kennedy between 2001 and 2002 and Shanna Moakler between 2004 and 2008; he has two children, Landon, 17, and Alabama, 15, with Shanna.   

A hotel owner has been accused of murder after a young couple were found dead in a shower from carbon monoxide poisoning. Jean Vosloo, 25, and Mari Hoon, 28, were found dead by a pal at the Kliphuis Guesthouse in the Eastern Cape of South Africa last year.   Vosloo, an agriculture graduate, and Hoon, who studied business management, were due to get married last month. The hotel owner, Kevin Pretorius, 47, was charged with two counts of murder on Tuesday April 6, after a year-long police investigation.   The engaged couple from Gauteng had been staying at his hotel located 11 miles from Kareedouw, for a mini-holiday when the unexpected happened. Stephan, friend to the couple made the gruesome discovery of their bodies on April 26 last year. The police then launched an investigation into the death of the couple who had no apparent injuries.   A Zimbabwean policeman identified as Phinias Shava has been arrested and arraigned in court for allegedly raping a woman in a police station.  The 31-year-old police officer who is stationed at Hillside Police Station, was arraigned in court on a two count charge bordering on rape.  A prosecutor revealed that the alleged crime occured when Shava was assigned to the How Mine police base. On the day of the said crime, the victim (27) who cannot be named for ethical reasons, went to the police base at around 8PM to collect some service papers which she had left being processed. It was alleged that Shava took advantage of the fact that there was no one else around and locked the door. He then grabbed the woman and dragged her to another room inside the building, ripped off all her clothes including her undergarments, removed his police combat uniform and raped her once using protection.   The police in a Lagos state have apprehended several traffic robbers terrorizing commuters and disposing them of their personal belongings. A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, police operatives attached to Ojo Division of the command on April 6, arrested three suspected traffic robbers namely Bashiru Ammo,  m, 19, Ibrahim Mohammed, m, 23, Arinze Victor, m, 19, all of Alaba Rago Market, Ojo-Lagos for attacking innocent commuters in Ojo area.  Adejobi said as a follow-up to the police investigation, other suspected receivers of the items from the traffic robbers were arrested on 7th April, 2021. He gave their names as Bello Jafaru, m, 20, Nuru Abdullahi,m, 23, Nafiu Saray, m, 21 and Bashiru Mohammed, m, 19, all of Kasuwan-Dare Alaba Rago,  Ojo-Lagos.   Social media posts paying tribute to DMX broke out on Thursday night, stating that the American rapper passed away at the age of 50 after being taken off life support.  Comedian and actress, Luenell, also helped fuel the rumours when she posted to her stories that her friend was “gone” following his hospitalization for a reported drug overdose that triggered a heart attack last week. “It is over, my friend is gone,” she wrote in the post. “Soar. Join the best that ever did it. RIP DMX.”     Clarifying her post, Luenell wrote, “When your spirit leaves and your organs fail you. The body becomes just a shell. One becomes wrapped in the lords arms. That’s what ‘I’ call gone. Commander Kelechi Ndukwe has assumed his new role as the Commander of a U.S. Navy ship, making him the first Nigerian-American in that position. Ndukwe is from Okoko-Item in Bende LGA, Abia State.     In decision made by the military top brass of the United States, with the knowledge of the US President Joe Biden, Commander Kelechi Ndukwe was appointed and given charge to take command of the US Navy-guided missile destroyer USS HALSEY (DDG-97) on April 2 2021. The United States Embassy in Nigeria has congratulated Kelechi Ndukwe on the feat, as the first Nigerian-American to command a US Navy Guided Missile Destroyer. The embassy congratulated the naval officer in a tweet on Thursday, April 8.     Abia state governor,  Okezie Ikpeazu also took to Twitter to congratulate him.     Ndukwe holds a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategy Studies from the US Naval War College. The Nigerian Correctional Service has released photos and names of some of the inmates who escaped during the jailbreak in Imo state on Monday, April 5. Unidentified gunmen stormed the Owerri Custodial Center in the early hours of Monday and freed over 1800 inmates. 84 of the inmates have so far returned to the custodial center. The Nigerian Correctional Center has now released photos of some of the fleeing inmates.  See below    

A Kenyan Defence Forces (KDF) soldier Daniel Omollo Onyango, has died after a fight with his wife at their home in Kahawa Wendani, Kiambu County. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations, DCI, on Thursday, April 8, said that Onyango,37, died as a result of low oxygen concentration in the blood after being bitten by his 27-year-old wife, Violet Asale Emu, an upcoming local secular artiste whose stage name is Zian Achama.      According to the police report, the fight broke out on Sunday morning, April 4, just minutes after midnight at their two-bedroom house in Kahawa Wendani.   Preliminary investigation established that the deceased was furious about the one-bedroom house that his wife had rented and was demanding to know who pays the rent and who the other tenants are.   "So angry was the officer that he refused to partake the night's dinner. Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth,  has died at the age of 99. The Duke of Edinburgh, who was married to Queen Elizabeth for 73 years, was said to be the monarch's rock during her 69-year reign. He spent his final days at Windsor Castle with his wife after a 28-night stay in hospital having been admitted in mid-February for an infection and a pre-existing heart condition. Her Majesty announced her husband's death at midday today, April 9.     Buckingham Palace said in a statement: "It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.   "His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. Further announcements will made in due course. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss."  

  A former minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Mahmud Tukur, has passed away. Dr. Tukur died from undisclosed ailment in the early hours of Friday, April 9, in Abuja.  Close family members, who confirmed the death to Daily Trust, said he died after he was rushed to a hospital in Abuja from his base in Kaduna, on Wednesday night, April 6.  "His remains is being conveyed to Yola for the funeral,” a source said.  The late Tukur was a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari and served as his Minister of Commerce between 1983 and 1984 when he was the military Head of State. Dr Tukur, an academic, politician and businessman, was also the first Vice Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano and a former director of Cadbury Nigeria.
