The family of veteran rapper, DMX held a vigil on Monday evening, April 5, outside White Plains Hospital in New York where the 50-year-old is hospitalized.  DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was hospitalized last Friday after suffering a drug overdose that triggered a heart attack and is now "facing serious health issues," his family said. There are reports he has "some brain activity" and is in a "vegetative state" and doctors have cautioned he may not make it. The crowd that attended the vigil, joined in prayers, chanted "DMX!" and crossed their arms in the shape of an X. Many were seen crying while a recording of the rapper was played.  

The Nigerian Correctional Service has said that six inmates who escaped during the attack at the correction facility in Owerri, Imo state on Monday, April 5, have voluntarily returned while 35 others refused to escape from custody during the attack. The acting Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS, John Mrabure, disclosed this in a statement signed by the spokesman for corrections, Francis Enobore. According to the statement, 1, 844 of the inmates are currently on the run. Six members of the same family have died in a murder-suicide after two teenage brothers made a pact to commit suicide and take their family with them. Allen Police Department said they were called to a home on Pine Bluff Drive in Allen, Texas, at 1 AM Monday morning  March 5, to perform a welfare check.     They said a family friend had called 911 because they were concerned at least one person in the home was suicidal, WFAA reported. When officers arrived, they found six people dead; two brothers, an older sister, their mother and father, and a grandmother.     Police did not specify the ages of the deceased, except that they ranged from 19 years and above. A royal expert claims Prince Harry has demanded "an apology" from the Royal Family over what he perceives as the mistreatment of his wife, Meghan Markle. One of the main bones of contention is over an alleged racist comment made by one member of the Royal Family regarding the skin colour of Harry and Meghan's baby, Archie before he was born.   Oprah Winfrey later said the comment wasn't made by the Queen herself or Prince Philip.   The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also claimed that Meghan, who admitted that she had suicidal thoughts when pregnant with Archie, was denied help with her mental health.   And a source has now reportedly told Us Weekly magazine that Prince Harry is demanding an apology from the family in the UK.   The source claimed: "The problem with Harry is that he’s hooked on being right and regardless of saying he wants to move on from this.   "He won’t back down until he gets some form of apology from his family."

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a law that could keep him in office in the Kremlin until 2036, when he will be almost 84 years old. The legislation allows him to run for two more six-year terms once his current stint ends in May 2024. It follows changes to the constitution last year. Those changes were backed in a public vote last summer. Putin was born 7 October 1952. He is at present 68 years old. He is currently serving his second consecutive term as president and his fourth in total. The reform, which critics cast as a constitutional coup, was packaged with an array of other amendments that were expected to garner popular support, such as one bolstering pension protections. The law signed by Putin limits any future president to two terms in office, but resets his term count. It prevents anyone who has held foreign citizenship from running for the Kremlin. The legislation was passed in the lower and upper houses of parliament last month.
