The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Karnataka in Bengaluru, has arrested a 32-year-old Nigerian national on charges of drug peddling and seized 500 gms MDMA worth over Rs 40 lakhs (N20,920,346.50)  The suspect identified as Ugochukwu Victor Nwaosu was arrested on Friday, March 5, in Hennur area of the city. The police said he came to India on a student visa.   . Based on information received from him during interrogation, police raided two houses and launched manhunt for two other suspects identified as Master Chandra and Keshav.  According to reports, Govindpura police raided the home of a reality TV star, Mastan at Sanjay Nagar and have detained him in connection with the drug case.  Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the Nigerian at the Hennur police station.  

26-year-old Precious Teya from Chitungwiza in Zimbabwe, who was arrested last week for reportedly sleeping with a 13-year-old boy has challenged the minor’s age in court and also insisted that she had no way of telling that the juvenile was a minor.  Teya who was arraigned on charges of indecent assault, argued that she had no way of knowing that her alleged victim who she met on an adult dating site was only 13-years-old due to his stature and his conduct.  Her lawyer,  Moses Nyatsoma argued that the prosecution failed to provide conclusive proof of the boy’s age. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) application for the final forfeiture of two Ikoyi houses belonging to a former Senate President Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has been struck out by Justice Liman Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Lagos State The court had earlier refused to grant the application of the EFCC for a final forfeiture order of the properties at No. 17 and 17 A Mc Donald Street, Ikoyi, Lagos and instead took oral evidence and adjourned. Justice Mohammed Liman struck out the case on Thursday March 4, on grounds of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission failing to show that the funds used to purchase the property were proceeds of corruption.   Uche Ogbuagu has been impeached as the majority leader of Imo state house of assembly.  The popular comedian who represents Ikeduru state constituency was impeached on Thursday March 4, months after he defected to the All Progressives Congress from People’s Democratic Party following the removal of Emeka Ihedioha as Governor of Imo state by the Supreme court.  Uche Ogbuagu was removed by majority vote under tight security, amid a cold war with the house's deputy speaker, Amarachi Iwuanyanwu.  

The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested a notorious car snatcher, Faisal Salihu, at New Nyanya, Karu Local Government Area of the state. Five persons have been paraded by the Nigeria Police Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos Command, for issuing fake COVID-19 certificate. The arrested suspects have been identified as Achibong Idonrenyin, Moses Samuel, Popoola Adewala, Wale Aderele and Abdulmalik Ibrahim, and it was also learnt that two others identified as Shehu Imam and Adeola Dalington who work with Sky Blue Services limited, a cleaning service at the airport are at large.  Mr. Bature Umar, the Commissioner, Airport Command told newsmen that the incident occurred on February 19, 2021 at the airport where a British Airways passenger, Michael Osagbogun was defrauded N50,000 for fake COVID-19 test.
