NBA stars have has rallied around LeBron James after he was criticised by Zlatan Ibrahimovic over his political activism.   The AC Milan striker started the row last month when he expressed his disappointment at LeBron James and other influential figures getting involved in politics and told them to stick to what they are good at.   The LA Lakers star then hit back, stating he is never someone who is going to just 'shut up about things that are wrong', insisting that he will never stop using his platform to speak out about political issues such as racial inequality.    The Swedish football legend responded and refused to back down on his stance, saying "Athletes must be athletes, politicians must be politicians.   Some NFA stars have now come to James' defense following the Swede's repeated attacks.   Portland Trailblazer star Enes Kanter, who has been outspoken about the Erdogan regime in Turkey said: 'Someone has to tell Ibrahimovic that...

  American singer, Jhene Aiko will take on hosting duties at the 2021 Grammy Awards premiere ceremony.  The Recording Academy announced Tuesday, March 2, that the Grammy-nominated singer will host the pre-show, where most trophies are awarded. It will be streamed live on the Grammy’s website ahead of the 63rd annual ceremony on March 14. The Grammys will be held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center. Aiko’s third studio album “Chilombo” is nominated for album of the year and best progressive R&B album.  She’s also up for the best R&B performance for her song “Lightning & Thunder,” featuring John Legend. The 2021 Grammy Awards were originally scheduled to take place in January before they were postponed to March due to the “deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles.”

The United States government has imposed sanctions on senior Russian officials over the poisoning of top opposition leader Alexei Navalny. The sanctions are being levied against Russia's top spy and six others, and will be followed up by sanctions from the European Union too. US officials say they had concluded that the Russian government was behind the near-fatal nerve agent attack on Navalny last year, that made him receive treatment in Germany for months. Navalny is the most high-profile critic of President Vladimir Putin and his imprisonment last month after returning to Russia resulted in large protests in the country. Moscow denies involvement in his poisoning saying Navalny was not poisoned with a Novichok agent during a flight in Siberia. The term Novichok - "newcomer" in Russian - applies to a group of nerve agents developed in a lab by the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Reggae legend and three-time Grammy winner, Bunny Wailer, has died at the age of 73.  The Jamaican singer, who was a founding member of The Wailers, alongside Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, died on Tuesday, March 2, at the Andrews Memorial Hospital in the Jamaican parish of St. Andrew, his manager, Maxine Stowe, told The Associated Press.  His cause of death is yet to revealed. But Local newspapers had reported that the singer whose real name was Neville O'Riley Livingston, suffered his second stroke in July 2020 and has been in and out of the hospital since.  The Wailers were founded by Marley, Wailer, and Peter Tosh in 1963.Wailer was the last surviving founding member after Marley and Tosh died in 1981 and 1987, respectively.  During an interview with NPR in 2016, Wailer explained why he chose to keep his last name long after leaving the band in 1974.
