A container load of tramadol has been intercepted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Apapa seaport. Director, Media and Advocacy NDLEA headquarters, Abuja, Femi Babafemi in a statement released on Wednesday February 24, said about two million capsules of Tramadol (precisely 1,994,400 capsules) tucked in 554 cartons were intercepted in the container which was falsely declared to contain ceramic tiles. He quoted Apapa seaport Area Commander of the NDLEA, Mr. Samuel Gadzama as saying that one of the containers bearing the illicit drug had been intercepted and seized in Kenya.   Gadzama said;     “Though the second container found its way to Nigeria but the eagle eyes of our narcotic agents discovered it during a joint inspection of the ship. A missing girl has been found in a hotel room with a 22-year-old man who lured her after meeting her on Snapchat. Tyler Thompson, 22, was arrested by police in Volusia County, Florida, on February 18 after being caught on camera in a dark room, shirtless, with an underage girl.     The girl was reported missing by her grandmother at around 6.15pm on Thursday, Feb 18, after she failed to come home after school. Initial investigations determined that a friend of the missing girl said the victim was planning on going to a motel with someone she met online. The friend told police she thought the man’s name started with a T, possibly Tyler, and that he was from Orlando. She said he may have picked up the victim at the Dollar General store in Oak Hill, near Edgewater.   Deputy Royce James went to the store to look at security video and found surveillance images of the victim at the store. According to the Sun, Kanye, 43, visited two jewellers to get quotes for the items he was considering selling.      A source told The Sun: 'In the last two weeks, Kanye was attempting to sell jewellery he had purchased for Kim to at least two top jewellers. A 33-year-old woman from Chinhoyi in Zimbabwe has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly stabbed a 13-year-old boy who had assaulted her minor son. Monalisa Choguya of 188 Single Quarters was accused of stabbing Tonderai Kamhuka of 1644B Single Quarters, Mpata with a knife for beating her 7-year-old son for trespassing.  The suspect reportedly stabbed the teenager on the back of the head and in the stomach after her son reported the incident to her.  Mashonaland West police spokesperson, Inspector Margaret Chitove said the incident occurred on the 23rd of February 2021 around 10 am. Tonderai sustained a deep wound in the stomach which left his bowels protruding and a deep gush on the back of the head following the heinous attack.  The accused also sustained a cut on her left hand. At least 67 inmates have died in prison riots across Ecuador as inmates used blood and knives to attack each other.   The violence was said to have broken out over a power dispute between criminal gangs, according to local media.   In a tweet, Ecuadorian president Lenin Moreno said gangs had carried out "simultaneous acts of violence in several prisons in the country".     According to authorities, riots erupted in prisons in the cities of Guayaquil, Cuenca and Latacunga.   Police General Commander Patricio Carrillo said on Twitter on Tuesday that additional security forces had been dispatched to the prisons to regain control of them following the riots.     He added that the riots had involved high-security prisoners.   Images and videos circulating on social media show inmates gathered on a prison rooftop with police officers on motorcycles and in patrol cars surrounding the prison.     Other horrifying fo...

The Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Youth development, Comrade Okiemute Sowho has been killed by suspected assassins in Sapele. 40-year-old Sowho was shot dead around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening February 20, near a popular hotel along Akintola road close to the Adeniyi end of the town. According to reports, the deceased had gone to check a building in the vicinity when the assailants surfaced from nowhere and opened fire on him, before speeding away. He was rushed to a private hospital in the area where the doctors confirmed him dead on arrival before his remains were deposited in the mortuary. The late Sowho assumed office last year. The state police command is yet to comment on the development. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Media personality, Daddy Freeze has condemned those criticizing Destiny Etiko for the clingy jumpsuit she wore during a visit to the office of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.   Freeze pointed out that Nigerians come on social media to complain about police harassing them for how they are dressed. Yet, they are also harassing the actress for how she's dressed.   He added that most Nigerian citizens are not different from the Nigerian police.  

Three brothers have been declared wanted alongside 13 others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria for various fraud related cases.  The brothers, Lasisi Ridwan Adeniyi, Lasisi Sodiq Fahm and Lasisi Wasiu Adeleke are wanted in a case of obtaining by false pretence.     According to EFCC, the trio are natives of Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun state, and their last known addresses are; No. 5 Tobiloba Lawal Street, Ocean Breeze Estate, Ologolo Lekki; No. 2 Omodayo Owutunga street, along Chevron Drive, Bakare Estate, Lekki; No. 10 Onileyun street, Bariga and No. 22 Olorunkemi, Bariga, all in Lagos State.   See details of others below. .

Ex-Super Eagles player, Ogenyi Onazi has signed for Lithuanian A Lyga champions Zalgiris over a month after he was sacked by Danish club SonderjyskE. The 28-year-old is set to continue his career in Lithuania, as he has joined his new club on a free transfer. Onazi has been a free agent since January 5.   His new club, Zalgiris won their eighth top-flight title last November. Manchester City football club of England have denied making any offer to Lionel Messi, even though the Barcelona forward’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Messi is free to speak to non-Spanish clubs and has been linked with several clubs like City and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain. Reports emerged this week that City made a revised transfer offer for Messi but the club has now denied the reports.   City are one of the few clubs that could afford his salary and there have been reports that a deal could also see him play for other sides in the City Football Group - including New York City FC.   Gunmen suspected to be assassins have killed a 40-year-old man identified as Odion Ehiorobo Larry, in Benin City, Edo state  It was gathered that Ehiorobo was shot dead in front of his pregnant wife and children in his house located at Peanut Road along Sapele Road in Benin city about 2am on Thursday, February 18.  According to Standard Gazette crime correspondent, Festus Alenkhe, who visited the area, the gunmen scaled the fence into the compound and gained access into the apartment by forcing the door open. They went straight into his bedroom, dragged him to the lounge before shooting him in the head.     Ehiorobo was said to have pleaded with them with everything he had, including money and other belongings but they told him they came for his life. The actress took to her Instagram account to share a photo of herself wearing a clinging jumpsuit while with Governor Yahaya Bello in his office. Followers accused her of dressing inappropriately for the occasion.     She had to block followers from posting comments on the post but that didn't deter them.
