  Tesla Inc. Chief Executive, Elon Musk is set to overtake Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg to become the world’s third-richest person. This comes after his net worth increased by more than $15 billion in extended trading following S&P Dow Jones Indices' announcement that Musk's electric carmaker company will join 500 index of leading US companies in December. Tesla, whose stock closed at $408.09, surged about 14% at 6:20 p.m. in New York, lifting Musk’s net worth to $117.5 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His wealth has jumped $90 billion this year, the biggest gain on the ranking of the world’s 500 richest people. That places Musk, 49, third on the league table of the world’s richest people in front of Zuckerberg, 36, with $106bn, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index revealed.   The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper, who allegedly killed an 8-year-old girl after collecting N500,000 ransom from her family.  Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, November 17, said the 24-year old suspect, Habibu Sale kidnapped Asiya Tasiu in Chikawa village, Gabasawa Local Government Area of the state on June 6, 2020, when she was sent on an errand in her Aunty’s place who happened to be his neighbour.  It was gathered that after the suspect kidnapped the girl, he demanded the sum of N10 million as ransom from her family but it was later reduced to N500,000 after negotiation.   Nigeria failed to book a spot at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, following a 0-0 draw with Sierra Leone on Tuesday evening. A victory in Freetown would have seen the Super Eagles qualify with two games to spare. Earlier in the day, Lesotho and Benin Republic played out a goalless draw. A win for Gernot Rohr’s men would have taken them up to 10 points and ensure they finish in the top two positions in Group L no matter what. Nigeria still top the group with eight points, while Benin Republic are in second place with seven. Sierra Leone have three points and Lesotho are bottom with two. On Match Day 5, the Eagles are away to Benin Republic, where they can finally claim a ticket to the tournament.

  A rape lawsuit filed in 2018 against Russell Simmons has been dismissed by a judge for falling outside the statute of limitations.  In a decision filed last Friday, L.A. Superior Court Judge Mark Epstein dismissed the case because the suit was filed at least four years too late for an incident that allegedly took place in 1988.  According to the ruling, the statute of limitations would have expired at the latest in 2014. Last month, Epstein issued an order that gave the anonymous Jane Doe two weeks to file an opposition to Simmons’ motion that the case be dismissed for falling outside the statute of limitations. But Doe didn't file an opposition to the motion, so Epstein held his Oct. 1 order for two weeks to give her time to respond.   Inter Milan and Serbia defender, Aleksandar Kolarov has tested positive for Coronavirus, his club have confirmed. Following the latest round of medical checks at San Siro, the defender who made his name while playing for Manchester City has been forced into self-isolation after being diagnosed with the deadly Covid-19. Kolarov returned to Italy last week after struggling with injuries while away on international duty with Serbia.      On Monday, he went for Inter Milan's covid-19 team test and was diagnosed with Covid-19.   Lil Wayne is now facing a new federal weapon charge which could see him spend a long time in prison if convicted.  TMZ reported that the American rapper is being charged with 1 count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. Lil Wayne who was convicted of a felony gun charge in New York back in 2009, faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted. The charge stems from a December 2019 incident in which a private plane transporting Wayne from California to Florida was searched by federal agents at Miami-Opa locka Executive Airport.  According to the  Miami Herald , Miami-Dade Police alerted federal authorities of the plane after receiving a tip that weapons and marijuana were potentially being transported by the aircraft.
