Former Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has reacted to the reported killings of #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate and other parts of the country.  Recall some protesters were allegedly killed after security agents fired gunshots to disperse the protesters at Lekki tollgate on Tuesday night, October 20.  Reacting on Twitter, Peter Obi condemned the alleged killings, saying shooting of protesters while they were singing the national anthem is "unconscionable" The former Governor of Anambra state also stated that the lives lost during the gun attack is a 'collective loss' to the nation and not just to their families who are grieving.    He wrote:    The killing of peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate and other parts of the country yesterday is condemnable. The Trump administration has sued Google in what is now the largest antitrust case against a technology company in more than two decades. In the government's complaint, the Justice Department makes allegations that Google (GOOG) has stifled competition to maintain its powerful position in the marketplace for online search and search advertising. Eleven states joined the Justice department in the suit, namely:-- Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina and Texas. According to the complaint Google performed actions that harmed competition and prevented rivals from gaining a meaningful audience.   A California dad has been sentenced to 78 years in prison for stabbing his three sons to death.  Luiz Fuentes, 38, who entered his plea in a downtown courtroom on Tuesday, October 20, was immediately sentenced to 78 years to life in prison by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lisa B. Lench.     As part of the plea, Fuentes admitted to using a knife to kill his sons, Luis, 10, Juan, 9, and Alexander, 8, according to the L.A. County district attorney’s office.   On September. 9, 2015, the three children were found dead in the father’s SUV, which was parked outside a South L.A. furniture warehouse, with Mr.Fuentes discovered with self-inflicted stab wounds in the front seat, KTLA reported.     The report said Fuentes was unemployed and had been living in the SUV with his sons before the tragedy.  Fuentes had become depressed after their mother died of a brain aneurysm in 2008, according to  The Los Angeles Times , The pub...

Former United States Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the ongoing violent crackdown on protesters in the country. The presidential candidate released the statement hours after security operatives opened fire on protesters demanding an end to police brutality. Joe Biden also called on the United States government to stand with Nigerians.   Nigerian Mixed Martial Art champion, Kamaru Usman has said President Buhari has failed after the reported shooting of EndSARS protesters yesterday in Lekki. He lamented about the ongoing situation in the country stating that Buhari and the government has failed Nigeria.   The Nigerian Army has denied any involvement in Tuesday evening’s shooting of peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Toll gate area of Lagos. There were reports of massive shooting by men in military uniforms at protesters on Tuesday evening at the Lekki Toll Gate including panic videos shared from the scene. However, the Nigerian Army described the reports as “Fake News” and stated that none of its officers were at Lekki Toll Gate on Tuesday. A brief response from the Nigerian Army read: “No soldiers were at the scene.”    

  Rihana has reacted to the shooting at Lekki toll gate last night which caught the world by storm. She was one of the first famous world people to react to the shooting. Reacting and explaining how heartbroken she is the singer took to twitter to address her millions of followers and beyond writing; “I can’t bear to see this torture and brutalization that is continuing to affect nations across our planet. It is such a betrayal to the citizens, the very people put in place to protect are the ones we are most afraid of being murdered by. My heart is broken for Nigeria.   The Nigerian Bar Association has condemned the killing of peaceful #EndSARS protesters reportedly by soldiers at Lekki tollgate in Lagos. The NBA President, Mr Olumide Akpata, stated in a statement asked the Nigerian Army to immediately identify the soldiers who carried out the attack and dismiss them from service. He also said the association would immediately commence legal actions against the Nigerian government and the Army at both international and local fora. He said the suits would be initiated by the NBA on behalf of the families of the victims, “for abuse of power, disregard of rules of engagement and the infringement of the fundamental rights (including right to life) of the affected citizens”.
