  A heartless mum tried to sell her newborn baby for £3,000 to treat herself to a new pair of boots. Luiza Gadzhieva, 25, was detained in Moscow, Russia, for attempting to sell her newborn baby on the black market. She advertised her tiny daughter saying she was seeking adoptive parents and accepted £3,000 for the child. But the mother, who has three other children, was caught in a sting operation with law enforcement posing as the buyers. Earlier, Gadzhieva discussed with her sister how she had chosen a new pair of boots to buy once she sold the baby, it was revealed. She handed over the baby girl in a city coffee shop from "mercenary motives." A law enforcement video shows Gadzhieva hiding her head in shame as she was quizzed by detectives. She told a buyer: “Don't say ‘to sell’, it sounds rude.     A pregnant woman and two men have been arrested in Benin, Edo State, for alleged armed robbery. It was gathered that the gang’s mode of operation involved the woman feigning labour pains along busy roads, while her accomplices would pounce on any would-be helper and rob them. The gang members were identified as Jumoke Akanbieme, Osagiede Izevbokun and Godfrey Okonide. The operation that led to their arrest was said to have taken place on the Murtala Mohammed Way, where they robbed the owner of a Toyota car, who attempted to help the pregnant woman. Her accomplices were said to have come out from their hiding place and forced the motorist to drive to the Upper Sokponba Road, where they dispossessed him of the car. The suspects were set to dismantle the car and sell of its parts when the police from the Ugbekun Division swooped on and arrested them. A University of Mkar lecturer, Moses Tarnongo, his wife and three children were killed in a ghastly accident in Benue State. Two other persons including another University of Mkar lecturer, Joshua Leva also lost their lives in the accident which occurred on Saturday evening, October 10, at Gbatse community along Ugbema-Adikpo road in Ushongo local government area of the state.    The University Registrar, Rev. Emmanuel Astor, who confirmed the incident on Sunday in Makurdi, said Moses Tarnong was killed alongside his wife and three children. The two lecturers were from the department of Mass Communication.   The registrar said the victims were on transit to Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area to see a one cleric when the incident happened.   The corpse of a woman was found dumped inside a drainage channel on Calabar Street in the High-Level area of Makurdi, the Benue State. It was gathered that residents of the area discovered the corpse in the early hours of Sunday, October 11. Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the incident, said that family of the deceased has been traced. “A lifeless body of a lady was found in a drainage at Calabar street on Sunday 11/10/2020 at about 7am. The family was traced and they confirmed the corpse to be Angbiandoo Gbavaan who left the house the previous night and never returned,” she said. Anene said that the identified corpse has been deposited at Bishop Murray Morgue for autopsy, adding that investigation into the matter was on progress.
